Evil Force Spiraling Sphere

Looking at the wolf pelts that had been cleanly stripped off one by one, Veigar had to admit that Takeuchi Joji was quite a seasoned hunter. His skinning technique was practiced and efficient, without a single unnecessary movement.

The skinned wolves did not go to waste either. They were all propped up beside two burning campfires to roast. Even if they could not finish them all at once, Veigar planned to pack the rest up as rations.

After being busy for a while, the exhausted Takeuchi Joji returned to his tent to rest. Veigar and Kakashi Hatake finally had some time alone, sitting around the campfire together.

Then Kakashi Hatake asked Veigar, "Veigar, that green light just now...?"

Veigar nodded and replied, "I don't know exactly what happened either."

"When I killed that Wolf King, that green light appeared not far from me. At the time, it felt as though my entire body had been frozen in place. I couldn't move at all."

"The dust on me came from when I fell to the ground then."

"I was afraid there might be danger, and you were calling for me, so I didn't go check what was going on."

Veigar would never reveal even the slightest hint that the bright green light had anything to do with him. The ability Superior Evil Power and his identity as a transmigrator were his greatest secrets.

Veigar did not know whether Kakashi Hatake believed him, but he believed himself, anyway.

After watching Veigar for a while, Kakashi Hatake nodded and replied, "When facing unknown dangers, we really do need to be cautious and stay alert."

Prying into someone else's secrets was one of the great taboos, so Kakashi Hatake did not press further. Since Veigar had said so, Kakashi Hatake chose to place firm trust in his companion.

Veigar nodded as well and replied, "Mm!"

"Kakashi, go get some rest. Leave the second half of the night to me."

Kakashi Hatake replied, "All right!"

"Please be careful."

Kakashi Hatake stood up and spoke solemnly.

Veigar replied, "Don't worry! I'll be extra careful."

After Kakashi Hatake turned and returned to the tent, beneath the flickering firelight, only Veigar's small figure remained, along with the wolf meat nearby that had just begun to sizzle.

Then Veigar gently closed his eyes, and once again "saw" the Superior Evil Power icon, like a holographic projection.

Veigar immediately made an attempt. For the first time, he tried to control the Superior Evil Power icon with his thoughts, but the icon representing Superior Evil Power did not move in the slightest, as though it had taken root deep within him.

Opening his eyes, Veigar wondered, Am I still missing something?

Then Veigar began his second attempt, condensing a Spiraling Sphere in the palm of his right hand.

At that instant, a feeling suddenly arose within Veigar—he seemed to be able to move the Superior Evil Power icon inside his body now.

With a thought, Veigar felt the Superior Evil Power icon within his body truly move, instantly appearing inside the Spiraling Sphere in his hand.

"What's this?"

Veigar's eyes widened at once. Even without closing his eyes and focusing, he could sense that there was still a Superior Evil Power icon inside his body. The Superior Evil Power icon within the Spiraling Sphere in his hand was more like a duplicate, and the two icons shared an extremely strong connection.

As dawn gradually broke, Veigar had spent several hours experimenting and finally figured out, more or less, what change had occurred to his Superior Evil Power. Despite the fatigue in his small eyes, they gleamed with excitement.

This change to Superior Evil Power was an entirely good thing for Veigar. He had also figured out why the Source of Life in the Wolf King's body had vanished in an instant.

Whenever he used the Spiraling Sphere, Veigar could split off a Superior Evil Power icon with the same effect from the one inside his body and inject it into the Spiraling Sphere in his hand.

Veigar had also given this Spiraling Sphere infused with a Superior Evil Power icon a name—Evil Force Spiraling Sphere.

At the same time, Veigar guessed that as long as a living being was killed by the Evil Force Spiraling Sphere, the Source of Life within it—which would normally dissipate unless he personally touched the corpse to absorb it—would be plundered completely in an instant.

The Wolf King he had killed earlier had probably lost all of its Source of Life for that very reason.

Veigar had already noticed that the Chakra within his body was just a tiny, tiny bit stronger than before.

If that was not the reason, Veigar could not think of any other explanation for the moment. But whether it was true or not, he would know for certain after trying it once more.

In the morning, after Kakashi Hatake and Takeuchi Joji woke up, the three of them began packing up so they could continue on their journey as soon as possible.

When the three gathered to eat breakfast, Takeuchi Joji was shocked by Veigar's terrifying appetite.

Yes, terrifying. Veigar's body was like a bottomless black hole. Even after eating an entire wolf, Veigar did not feel full at all.

Veigar did not really understand his current condition either. He felt like a bottomless pit now, able to eat and digest any amount of food.

Yet under normal circumstances, especially over the past week, he had rarely felt hungry. Even if he went most of the day without eating, it made no difference. He was simply incredibly resistant to hunger!

Two days later, Veigar and Kakashi Hatake escorted Takeuchi Joji to their destination. Yamagō Village could already be seen in the distance.

It was evening, and smoke curled from cooking fires throughout the village. Nearly every household was preparing dinner. Eager to return home, Takeuchi Joji unconsciously quickened his pace.

As they neared the village, Veigar and Kakashi Hatake spotted Minato Namikaze at the entrance, seemingly waiting for them.

Veigar and Kakashi Hatake immediately greeted Minato Namikaze in unison, "Teacher Minato!"

At the same time, Takeuchi Joji saw Minato Namikaze as well. He hurried over and said gratefully, "Lord Minato, thank you for solving our village's water problem."

Minato Namikaze waved his hand and replied with a smile, "Mr. Jōji, it was merely my duty. There's no need to thank me."

Then Minato Namikaze looked at Veigar and Kakashi Hatake and asked, "Nothing happened on the way, right?"

Kakashi Hatake nodded and replied, "Everything went smoothly. We didn't encounter any danger."
