"Headless Knight?"
After receiving Lu Xin's call, Chen Jing seemed to suddenly become much more alert.
"Yes!"
Lu Xin answered in the briefest terms. "I ran into him near the elementary school. I felt he meant no good. I originally wanted to capture him, but he was very fast. I wanted to chase him, but I couldn't catch up... I only fired at the very end, but I didn't expect him to climb over the high wall even without a head, mount the motorcycle he'd prepared beforehand, and leave... His driving skills were excellent!"
"Don't touch anything for now. Wait for me!"
Chen Jing hung up decisively.
Around Lu Xin, the other soldiers had already scattered under their captain's orders, sealing off the area while remaining on guard. They couldn't hear Lu Xin's conversation. Only the captain, who was somewhat closer, caught a few fragments. The keywords "his head fell off" and "his driving skills were excellent" left him both horrified and utterly confused.
Even now, he still didn't know who Lu Xin was.
But he recognized Lu Xin's identification card and knew what sort of authority it represented.
Thus, he could only rack his brains over what he had just witnessed, so he could handle the interrogation that was sure to come:
He had indeed seen a motorcycle speeding away, but at that speed and in that lighting, he couldn't tell whether its rider had a head or not. Of course, that didn't mean he truly thought Lu Xin's words were unreasonable. After all, when he'd found Lu Xin standing perfectly fine atop the high wall without any climbing equipment on him, he'd already felt that the situation itself was unreasonable.
He also knew that the Main City had a special department.
