Neji gathered tailed-beast chakra, awakened the Gate of Time and Space, and helped Konoha defeat Kakuzu while preparing Zabuza as bait for Akatsuki. As Akatsuki moved to seal its captured beasts, Sasuke attacked Orochimaru and was drawn into the Reincarnation Ritual.

• Sasuke rejected Naruto’s appeal to return, but Orochimaru stopped him from attacking and persuaded him to leave with Kabuto.
• Neji exposed Black Zetsu’s knowledge of his plans, then cooperated with him while Akatsuki accelerated its hunt for the tailed beasts.
• Neji awakened Yugito and gave Zabuza access to Isobu’s chakra, then visited Tsunade and agreed to protect Naruto.
• Neji drained the Dragon Vein at Rōran, filled the Lion Head’s Sands of Time, and awakened the Gate of Time and Space before the ruins sank.
• Neji helped Naruto train in Wind Release and saved Asuma’s life after Hidan and Kakuzu attacked him and Shikamaru’s team.

Sasuke defeated Itachi and learned that Danzo had forced him to massacre the Uchiha Clan, while Neji pursued his plans involving Akatsuki and the tailed beasts. The arc ended with Neji confronting Pain in Amegakure as Jiraiya recognized Yahiko among the Paths.

• Sasuke left Orochimaru’s hideout with Suigetsu, then met Neji and learned that Uchiha Izumi would not join her pursuit of Itachi.
• Neji sent Karin and Kimimaro with Sasuke, while his puppets raided Orochimaru’s bases and he recruited Kabuto to help him.
• Neji revived Yugito after Akatsuki extracted the Two-Tails, then Sasuke and Itachi fought until Itachi sealed Orochimaru and died.
• Neji explained that Danzo had forced Itachi to massacre the Uchiha Clan, and Sasuke awakened her Mangekyō Sharingan and vowed to kill Danzo.
• Neji revealed Obito’s role in the Uchiha tragedy and told Sasuke that he was cooperating with the Masked Man to gather the tailed beasts, though he would not hand over Naruto.
• Deidara defeated Utakata, and Obito took both of them away as Tsunade called on the great ninja villages to oppose Akatsuki.

Neji defeated Pain, manipulated the villages into a war against the Ten-Tails, and ended the conflict with overwhelming force before pursuing an old grudge through the Gate of Time and Space. On Punk Hazard, he joined Law against Doflamingo and took control of Vergo.

• Neji defeated Pain, while Obito stole Nagato’s Rinnegan and left him dying beside Konan.
• Neji took control of Amegakure, arranged attacks by reincarnated shinobi, and helped push the Five Great Shinobi Villages into forming an alliance.
• Obito attempted to capture Killer B, but the Kage joined forces to protect the remaining Jinchuriki and fight the approaching war.
• Neji modified Tenten’s weapons, helped prepare Naruto to master the Nine-Tails, and empowered Sasuke with new eyes after she lost to Kimimaro.
• Neji and Obito sent their forces into battle, while Danzo revived Madara Uchiha and brought him to the battlefield.
• The Ten-Tails emerged, but Neji cut off Madara and Obito’s access to its power before unleashing a devastating attack that killed nearly everyone except himself and the beast.
• Neji revived the recently dead, disappeared after warning the leaders to preserve peace, then hid the planet from the Otsutsuki Clan and set out through the Gate of Time and Space.

Neji took control of Punk Hazard, returned to Konoha to become the Sixth Hokage, and then went to Dressrosa to work against Doflamingo. After winning Block D and rescuing Rebecca, he confronted Sugar and Trebol in the underground market.

• Neji seized Caesar’s laboratory, arranged for Smoker’s Marines to take the children for treatment, and reunited with Luffy’s group as Kin’emon discovered that Momonosuke had become a girl.
• Neji met Aokiji, then returned to Konoha and became the Sixth Hokage after Tsunade resigned, restoring Sasuke’s status as a Konoha hero.
• Neji tested how Devil Fruit powers interacted with Chakra, then visited Dressrosa and learned that the Hobby Hobby Fruit had turned people into toys and erased them from others’ memories.
• Neji recruited Violet to help King Riku oppose Doflamingo, reunited with Sabo and Koala, and learned that Kaido supplied the weapons Doflamingo distributed.
• Neji entered Dressrosa’s colosseum, healed injured gladiators, and helped Rebecca explain the country’s suffering to Luffy, who resolved to fight Doflamingo.
• Neji defeated the remaining Block D contestants, including Orlumbus and Cavendish, and won the block before escaping with Rebecca while Sabo claimed the Flame-Flame Fruit.
• Neji brought Izumi and Rebecca to the underground market, where Sugar turned Cavendish into a toy and erased their memories of him.
