Understanding the Job

"Gulp, gulp~" Toga Himiko happily drank a bottle of grape juice. Shinpachi Shimura ignored her and took out his phone to look at his social media feed, chuckling to himself.

He thought to himself that these leisurely days wouldn't last much longer. This was just a few days of downtime after completing a mission, and soon they'd be back to a life where their heads were on the line.

That's why Shinpachi Shimura cherished these relaxed days.

"Are you done drinking?" Shinpachi Shimura recalled recent events, zoning out for a moment. He figured Toga Himiko should be finished drinking by now.

"Holy crap, what are you doing?" Shinpachi Shimura's expression changed when he saw the scattered beverage bottles lying around Toga Himiko's feet.

"Burp... I'm full..." Toga Himiko patted her stomach with satisfaction after a loud burp. She had a really great time today, trying many drinks she'd never tasted before.

"I told you to drink one bottle, but you drank a whole eight!" Shinpachi Shimura shouted, "And you're even burping, are you eating them?"

"Stop yelling, I drank them, what are you gonna do about it? At worst, I'll buy some back tomorrow," Toga Himiko said, unhappy with Shinpachi Shimura yelling at her.

"These are imported drinks, do you think they're easy to buy? I only drink one can at a time when I have them, but you just downed seven or eight cans like they were a meal," Shinpachi Shimura said painfully. These drinks weren't cheap; each one cost several times more than a bowl of ramen from the Island Nation.

"What's wrong?" Wu Shiyin walked in at that moment. His first glance was at the two arguing, and his second fell on the empty bottles at Toga Himiko's feet, his expression changing. "You... you drank all this by yourself?"

"Hehe, Gin-san, I couldn't help myself. It was too delicious, so I drank a bit more. Don't blame me," Toga Himiko said, putting on a pitiful act.

It was true; she hadn't expected the drinks to be so good before she started drinking them. But once she tasted them, she found she couldn't stop.

"What a waste..." Wu Shiyin sighed after rubbing his head. He waved his hand and said, "Go work with Yang Xiao."

"Gin-san, you're just letting her off the hook?" Shinpachi Shimura's eyes widened. The last time he drank an extra can, Wu Shiyin had scolded him severely. Why wasn't this woman being scolded?

This was too unfair.

"Forget it, it's already done, what can we do?" Wu Shiyin looked at Shinpachi Shimura and said, "Be nice to the new comrades. Let this be the last time."

Yang Xiao didn't know what had happened in the recreation room, but he could hear the shouting. It wasn't his business. At that moment, Tae Shimura and Kagura were explaining how to organize the relevant documents to him.

For example, most of these files were for completed orders, and some were new orders, with dates, names of targets, and completion conditions noted.

This indicated that the Problem Solver took on significant and dangerous jobs.

By chance, Yang Xiao also saw terms like "Tenth Mortal Realm" and "Sixth King Realm," which he had never heard of before. However, he wouldn't ask Wu Shiyin and the others what they meant right now.

His current job was to organize documents and wait in the core hub to receive intelligence.

"Do you find the information on the orders strange?" Tae Shimura suddenly asked with a smile as Yang Xiao diligently organized the orders and documents.

"Yes, I find them bizarre," Yang Xiao nodded. Since he was already one of the core members of the Problem Solver, he didn't care if these things were within his purview to see or ask about.

Yang Xiao nodded in understanding but looked at the numerous orders before him and asked doubtfully, "But with so many orders, how can you three manage? Gin-san has to guard the Problem Solver and can't leave."

Kagura sneered, "Do you think the Problem Solver only has this few people? Don't forget, these are the core members. Besides the core members, there are also staff members who collect intelligence externally and carry out missions just like us."

Yang Xiao suddenly understood. This explanation made sense. Otherwise, the Problem Solver couldn't possibly complete so many orders with just these three people. However, Yang Xiao was puzzled. He had only been at the Problem Solver for a few months, yet he had directly bypassed the staff members and become a core member.

"Your task now is to do your job well. Those staff members really want to enter the Problem Solver's core hub, but they don't have your good luck. Be grateful," Kagura said.

Yang Xiao didn't feel he had anything to be grateful for. His initial purpose for coming to the Problem Solver was to earn a living and solve his basic needs.

Not to join an organization like this, similar to an assassin's guild, where they would handle eliminations after an order was placed.

Now that he was involved, it was impossible to quit. However, Yang Xiao didn't regret it. Joining the Problem Solver could be considered a form of training, and perhaps a manifestation of opportunity.

At least the Problem Solver had resolved its future worries, with the intelligence personnel in the core already in place.
