Ch. 89Waver / Growing Closer to King Arthur

Waver struggled with the Clock Tower’s contempt for his weak lineage and met a black-haired girl who claimed to be Aozaki Touko. Meanwhile, Touko and Irisviel planned to return to the Einzbern Family, repair Irisviel’s Lesser Grail, and summon King Arthur early so they could get to know each other before the Holy Grail War.

  • Waver listened as a green-haired man mocked his abilities and suggested he sneak into Aozaki Touko’s lecture.
  • Waver went to the library to study Zoroastrianism and helped a black-haired girl find books about Angra Mainyu.

  • Irisviel revealed that Touko already knew Artoria wished to return to the day the king was chosen and encouraged her to speak honestly with her Master.

  • Touko explained that her ability let her learn some things about the past and future, though not every detail.

Ch. 93How to Kill Aozaki Aoko

Artoria agreed to help Aozaki Touko win the Holy Grail War in exchange for a plan to save Camelot by moving its people to the Sea of Stars. Later, Cornelius Alba approached Touko about collaborating on Runes and was stunned by her apparent mastery of them.

  • Aozaki Touko told Artoria that Camelot's fall had been inevitable and that the Holy Grail could not change the past.

  • Artoria agreed to serve Touko as a knight if the plan worked, and Touko revealed that winning the Holy Grail War would let her master the Third Magic.
  • Cornelius Alba stopped Touko in the street and proposed that they study Runes together, but Touko refused and demonstrated a flame produced with Runes.
  • Alba asked whether Touko had revived the Runes, and Touko left without answering clearly or looking at his research materials.

In Fuyuki, Matou Kariya returned to find the Matou Household rebuilt and was chosen as a Master; his family then faced the prospect of entering the Holy Grail War.

  • Kayneth reassured Sola that his friendship with Aozaki Touko made the Holy Grail War safe for him, then read Waver Velvet’s paper and judged its argument unrealistic.
  • Kayneth criticized Waver’s paper in class, and Waver challenged him by citing Touko’s achievements without a Magic Crest; Kayneth called Touko an exceptional case and demanded proof.

  • Matou Shinji suggested that Kariya buy bodily fluids containing mana from sellers in Fuyuki City to support Lancelot.
  • Emiya Kiritsugu told Aozaki Touko that Kayneth and Sola were staying at the Hyatt Grand Hotel, and Touko went there with Artoria to visit them.
  • Kayneth revealed that three large Magecraft Furnaces supplied mana to the hotel's defenses, and Touko warned that explosives could destroy the building despite its barriers.
  • Emiya Kiritsugu considered using his connection to Kirei Kotomine to borrow Assassin and seize the Magecraft Furnaces.
  • Sola said she viewed the Holy Grail War as a friendly competition and offered to take refuge with Aozaki Touko, but Kayneth decided to reinforce the hotel's security.

Ch. 98Facing the King of Heroes / Assassin’s Troubles

Kayneth questioned Diarmuid about Aozaki Touko’s strength and asked him to avoid hurting her, while Touko encountered the King of Heroes and left after giving her name. Meanwhile, Emiya Kiritsugu tried to recruit Kirei Kotomine to steal Kayneth’s Magecraft Furnaces, but Kirei’s demand for a larger share stalled the plan.

  • Kayneth asked Diarmuid whether he could kill Aozaki Touko, and Diarmuid said he could strike her down at close range but knew little about her magecraft.
  • Kayneth told Diarmuid to avoid injuring Touko, explaining that Sola admired her and that their contest was only a friendly match.
  • Touko met the King of Heroes on a commercial street, recognized him, and gave her name before leaving with Artoria.

Aozaki Touko prepared to face Avicebron’s Magic Doll Army and allowed Beo to test her Baji Quan against it. As Touko’s Dolls joined the battle, Avicebron and Arba observed from afar while the Matou Household watched the fight on screens.

  • Aozaki Touko ordered the Einzbern Maidservants to stand down, then asked Altrouge to keep Irisviel safe while she went to meet the enemy.
  • Beo asked to fight so she could improve her Baji Quan, and Touko agreed as long as she avoided Heroic Spirits when possible.
  • Beo transformed into her adult form and charged into the Magic Doll Army, smashing dolls with her fists and feet.
