The partnership plan with Davis Farm went more smoothly than expected, partly because Mr. and Mrs. Davis had little choice under pressure from the bank.

Neither the bank loans nor the unpaid penalties posed any trouble for Henry. All he had to do was hire a lawyer licensed in Georgia to handle everything, including drafting a partnership contract with Davis Farm.

For the sake of that contract, Henry even made time to fly to Georgia alone. Naturally, he took a regular commercial flight rather than flying there himself.

Rather than partnering with major agricultural corporations and ordering their packaged smart farming systems, he ordered the necessary components from various places and guided the integration work remotely through computer connections.

This was another advantage of approaching Chuck and Winnie, the young Davis couple, for a partnership. Young people absorbed new things quickly and were more capable when it came to working with new technology.

Even without Henry present in person, the couple could carry out most of the work according to plan.

Still, every few weeks, Henry flew to Georgia to inspect the farm in person and resolve problems the young couple could not handle.

Had he partnered with other old farmers, even without debt issues to deal with, there would likely have been clashes in mindset instead. Unless Henry stayed in Georgia to keep watch or even did the work himself, the outcome would probably have been far from ideal.

Although renovating the farm meant Davis Farm's income for the year was unlikely to be much to look forward to, the backing of its financier allowed its debt repayment deadline to be extended. With the pressure reduced, the couple no longer felt as though they could barely breathe.
