Lorna Dane floated in midair, not wearing the classic all-green skintight comic-book suit that showed off her lovely figure.

She wore a leather jacket draped with chains and metal shoulder armor, ultra-short denim shorts, and knee-high leather boots, exposing most of her pale thighs. The metal belt buckle even bore a skull in a deliberately tasteless touch, carrying her androgynous style through to the end.

However, this tomboy was not foolish enough to leave her face exposed. She wore a domed helmet very similar in design to Magneto's.

It merely had an additional high-tech visor resembling sunglasses, making it impossible to see her eyes. Only her mouth and chin were visible.

The leather boots on her feet were specially made as well. Iron plates were embedded in the soles and toes, allowing her to use her magnetic-field control to float in midair.

She had only just learned this technique. To maintain her balance in the air, the iron buckles, chains, and rings around her waist and shoulders, along with that helmet, were all used to stabilize her posture.

Most important were those knee-high leather boots. They did not merely accentuate her long legs; if she wore ordinary shoes with metal blocks stuffed inside, the shoes might fly off halfway through. Once she lost that crucial support, she would fall straight out of the sky.

The knee-high boots held her feet firmly in place, keeping Lorna from falling to the ground. But claiming she could move nimbly through the air right now would be a lie. At most, she could avoid falling to her death.

Under such circumstances, Lorna did not dare engage any opponent in close combat. During sparring sessions with the Spider-Women, she had been taught painful lessons more than once by those agile girls with Spider-Sense.
