The Goat-Headed Demon had no intention of facing that man alone. He tried to turn everyone present against him and make them his allies.
His followers might have hesitated at first when they saw him knocked to the ground.
But once the Goat-Headed Demon rose again, he opened the gates of Hell and offered an enticing reward. Greed stirred in their hearts and blinded them.
Wanda, who had brought Henry here, was unmoved. She sat like a lion among hyenas, looking down on them all. None of them dared meet her eyes.
Henry knew exactly what the Goat-Headed Demon was plotting by singling him out.
He wanted to use the humans to force Henry's hand, whether that meant making him slaughter them or using them as cannon fodder to wear him down. Either outcome would be a victory—from a demon's point of view.
Henry ignored the greedy, bloodshot eyes fixed on him. He slung the severed demon arm over his shoulder and walked straight to the pit beside the Gate of Hell.
From where Henry stood, countless demons could be seen climbing the rock walls below, as though they meant to crawl out of Hell and into the world. "Are those really the Gate of Hell?" he asked Wanda Maximoff.
"Probably. That sulfur stench is enough to knock you out. No other dimension has quite that smell."
Wanda had given him a serious answer rather than brushing him off. Henry shrugged. He couldn't be bothered to question where the Sorcerer Supreme drew the line on intervening. Arguing with a master of magic was exhausting.
"It has wave-particle duality, but it can also flow and be stored like energy, then take physical form like matter. If it's what I think it is, that would be great. If it isn't, I'll apologize
