A refuge for mutant refugees
Genosha is an island located off the southeast coast of Africa, northeast of Madagascar, and southwest of the Seychelles Republic.
This is a refugee home established by Mutants with the tacit approval of the United States, managed by Magneto Erik Lehnsherr. The Mutants on the island are self-sufficient and live a rather simple life.
Although the world appears to be more tolerant of Mutants, allowing Mutants to live and work alongside others.
However, there is still a group of Mutants are out of step with ordinary humans. They may have been harmed by humans, or harmed other humans; even worse, they have both hurt others and been hurt themselves.
These Mutants often come to Genosha Island seeking refuge, where their fellow Mutants are at least more tolerant of each other. Even though some may have criminal backgrounds, they can still live peaceful lives.
However, not all Mutants with criminal records can come to the island. As the leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants, Erik doesn't accept just any scumbag, especially criminals who don't agree with the concept of a home and just want to lay low.
Therefore, Genosha Island cannot be called a paradise, nor is it a so-called Mutants nation. It is just a last refuge for a group of refugees who are not accepted by the world.
Of course, the establishment of this place involved many factors. There was the tacit approval of the United States and the U.S. military, the behind-the-scenes efforts of the X-Men, and the idea of creating a weakness for Square Magneto to trap this Mutants leader who was both highly capable and charismatic.
Otherwise, during the Brotherhood of Mutants' most active period, Magneto's Mutants were like rats in a ditch, impossible to find anywhere.
Unlike now, where there's a base that's clearly out in the open. If Square Magneto wants to keep this sanctuary,
He would then be easily controlled by other forces.
Since the X-Men's involvement in the establishment of this shelter was merely behind the scenes, it implies that there is little public interaction between the two sides, giving rise to unnecessary speculation.
At least the X-Men didn't openly send supplies here. That is to say, they themselves, in order to maintain Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, might not have the spare capacity to support a shelter housing thousands of people.
But today, the X-Jet made an unusual landing in Hammer Bay, the capital of Genosha Island. It's less a capital city and more a place where Square Magneto resides, rather than some other settlement.
Because the X-Men were so conspicuous, Erik arrived ahead of time, full of anger, without even needing to be notified by the crew. He was waiting for the X-Men to disembark from the fighter jet.
Scott, dressed in civilian clothes, was the only one who came to Genosha Island to gather information.
Seeing the large group of people behind Erik, and with two U.S. military Black Hawk helicopters lying on their sides not far away, the smoke still rising from them, Scott had a bad feeling.
"What are you doing here? And what trouble do you intend to bring to this land?" Erik demanded sharply.
"Erik, I'm just here to find the piano," Scott stated his destination directly.
"You saw what he did, but did you see him in person? He left before you got here. Glad the X-Men are late again," Erik quipped.
Looking at the mess, Scott cursed under his breath, "Damn it," and started walking towards the X-Jet.
Erik shouted from behind, "Stop! You owe me an explanation!"
"I don't have time, Erik. I need to find the harp quickly."
"It's your problem if you're busy. Do you think that piece of junk can take off without my permission?" Erik threatened, then voiced his doubt. He continued:
"Although I don't have Charles's abilities, I can still tell that Jean is hiding something from me. The soldiers were the same; they immediately asked me if I didn't know."
"It's a pity they fled in disarray, without saying a single word. So, you'd better tell me clearly what I need to know."
"Tell me what happened here first," Scott said.
Although Erik didn't roar, his gaze and low voice were equally intimidating. He said, "Kid, I'm not bargaining with you. Tell me, or I'll find the answer my own way."
The current Cyclops is not yet the future second-generation leader of Mutants who will achieve great things. Compared to ordinary people, he is at best a young man who has not long graduated from college, joined the military, been stationed overseas, and fought a few tough battles.
Faced with pressure from Square Magneto first Mutants leader, he didn't show any fear, but he still recounted the events of the battle in Red Hook. This could be considered a form of mental submission.
Erik, of course, cared little for the causes and consequences of the battle; he was only concerned with the two wounded Mutants. He asked, "What happened to Raven and Peter?"
At this point, Erik and Peter, father and son, had not yet recognized each other; only Peter knew about their relationship. Therefore, Erik's main concern was still with Mystique, Raven, his former comrade-in-arms.
"They're all fine. Peter has multiple fractures. Raven is experiencing organ failure due to the immense pressure she suffered."
But Hank had done everything he could to save her; her life was no longer in danger.
Erik scoffed, "Two people seriously injured, and you call that nothing? I seriously doubt what Charles taught you. Is it that if no one dies, it's not a big deal?"
Scott was about to say something when he was interrupted, leaving him embarrassed and unable to speak. He could only change the subject, asking, "What happened here? Why did Pine run away again?"
He waved for the others to step aside and go about their business. Erik then explained, "Jin came to me seeking refuge yesterday. I asked why, and although he didn't say, I took him in anyway."
"Today, the U.S. military has come to demand his release. In fact, if he hadn't shown up, things wouldn't have escalated to this point. Who knew he would actually jump out and cause this major battle?"
"Looking back now, it was when those soldiers were about to tell me what had happened to Qin that he jumped out and chased them away. Judging from his behavior, he might have even been planning to kill her."
"If I hadn't intervened, none of those soldiers would have escaped. After the battle, even if he wanted to stay, I couldn't stop him. He understood this himself, so Qin left on his own."
Scott reacted quickly, immediately realizing a possibility, and said, "Jane probably doesn't know Raven is alright, and thinks I killed him, which is why she didn't dare let you know, and didn't dare stay. I knew it, he wasn't indifferent to us, he just couldn't control himself."
"Raven is definitely not alright," Erik said quietly.
Watching this lovestruck young man, who would say anything to defend his girlfriend.
Erik felt it was necessary to let the other person know the harsh realities of society.
