Battle with Spider-Man

Boar had to leave the face intact so the body could be identified. That made the neck his target.

Even if the Green Goblin Formula was effective enough to keep Norman Osborn fighting him all day, he doubted Norman could survive having his head cut off. That belonged in a horror movie, not a superhero movie.

But his blade struck empty air, leaving Boar stunned. The Goblin Glider hurtling toward him had vanished too.

What had happened?

The only one who hadn't disappeared was Spider-Man, who had caught up from behind. He was firing web after web at the Boar Mech, trying desperately to pin it down.

"What did you do... What did you do? Who gave you the right to kill someone, you murderer!"

Using the spring of his webbing, Spider-Man launched himself into a heavy blow against the Boar Mech's back.

Boar severed the webbing behind him with his kukri, but that did nothing to stop Spider-Man's kick. A steel claw from the grappling gun on his shoulder dug into a nearby concrete wall, and the winch hauled the Boar Mech out of the way.

At the same time, Boar raised his free left hand. A crossbow sprang from the inside of his forearm and fired a bolt straight into Spider-Man's path.

A solid hit would send Spider-Man to the hospital, if it didn't kill him. Boar had gone out to deal with the Green Goblin today, and every weapon on the Boar Mech was lethal. There was nothing meant to leave its target alive.

Fortunately for Spider-Man, his Spider-Sense was keen, and his reflexes and coordination were extraordinary. He fired a web in another direction, twisted lightly, and changed the course of his kick just enough to dodge the bolt.
