Personality

Su Changqing is Xia Qi'an’s first opponent in the training-camp martial arts competition. He attempts to use speed and swordsmanship to control the match but is knocked away and disarmed by Xia Qi'an’s Great Strength Vajra Fist, after which he concedes. 7

Painted Skin Ghost and Tiger Demon Mission

Now a Snake Guard, Su Changqing travels with Xia Qi'an and Bata toward Yujia Village. Seeking revenge for his earlier defeat, he challenges Xia Qi'an after reaching the Bone Forging Realm, but is defeated again without landing a meaningful blow. 28 29

He fights with the group through Tiger Leaping Gorge, helps eliminate Skin-Painting Ghosts, and participates in the battle against the Tiger Demon. After the victory, he receives thirty percent of the recovered treasure, cultivation methods, and herbs. 30 32 33

Betrayal in Misty Rain Alley

After Xia Qi'an emerges from seclusion, Su Changqing invites him to a courtesan selection event. During their drinking session, he secretly adds Soul-Bewitching Powder to Xia Qi'an’s wine. 35 36

When confronted, Su Changqing confesses that jealousy and pressure from his clan drove him to act. He identifies the Wei, Wang, Lin, and Wen families as forces plotting against Xia Qi'an, then leaves Jinling City. 36 38
