Little Poliwag's Defense Broken

Unsurprisingly, the Poliwag's Water Gun missed.

Faced with the Poliwag's weak Water Gun, the Long-winged Gull instead flapped its wings and let out louder taunting calls, "Woo-oh, woo-oh, woo-oh..."

The Long-winged Gull had initially just wanted to see if the human and Pokémon duo it hadn't seen in a day were still around.

Upon arriving, it noticed a fire and, upon closer inspection, realized it was the same human and Pokémon duo from yesterday.

When the Long-winged Gull first arrived, it didn't make a sound. It only couldn't help but burst into laughter when it saw the Poliwag eating too eagerly and burning its lips.

It didn't even bother dodging the Poliwag's subsequent Water Gun because there was no need.

"Yo-yo, yo-yo," the Poliwag, naturally angered by missing its target, immediately got up and charged at the Long-winged Gull.

Seeing the Poliwag charge, the Long-winged Gull flapped its white wings and took to the air, thinking, This little runt hasn't learned its lesson, has it? I can fly.

The result was obvious. The Poliwag caught nothing and could only return to the shelter dejectedly, complaining to Yu Hai, "Yo-yo, yo-yo..."

"It's okay, don't worry. Once you evolve, you'll be able to hit it. Believe me," Yu Hai said, reaching out to stroke the Poliwag's head and comfort it.

Inwardly, however, he was already laughing hysterically. The Long-winged Gull was great; he even wanted to give it a thumbs-up.

"Yo-yo, yo-yo," after Yu Hai's encouragement, the Poliwag's mood improved significantly. As long as Yu Hai was there, it could quickly recover from any grievance, no matter how big.

After comforting the Poliwag, Yu Hai continuously put food on its plate, helping it turn its sadness into appetite. Eating was the right approach.

Meanwhile, while the Poliwag wasn't paying attention, Yu Hai threw some cooked shells to the Long-winged Gull and then began to eat himself.

As a human, he quickly ate his fill, but the Poliwag had only just started.

Next, he was responsible for putting food on the Poliwag's plate while also secretly tossing shells to the Long-winged Gull.

Finally, he took the Magikarp bones, roasted to a crisp over the fire, off the flames. To make them easier for the Poliwag to digest, he mashed the bones and the meat on them before feeding them to the Poliwag.

"Eat slowly, don't rush," Yu Hai said, watching the Poliwag munching on its food, genuinely afraid it would overeat.

Of course, he didn't stop it from eating. The Poliwag was in its growing phase, and only by eating more could it grow better.

They were surviving on a deserted island with limited food. They would eat anything they could, including fish bones.

These were hard for him, a human, to digest, but it was different for Pokémon. Their digestive organs were surely much stronger than humans'.

If the Poliwag didn't want to eat them, he wouldn't force it, but otherwise, it would only eat grass.

When the Poliwag had eaten most of its fill and finished the last sip of seafood soup, half of the Magikarp's skeleton remained. He also mashed this half to make storage easier.

The remaining fish bones would be the Poliwag's breakfast tomorrow morning. The Poliwag needed to train its moves in the morning, so eating first was essential.

The Magikarp's skeleton was truly large. Even half of the bones, when dried, would still weigh about three catties, he estimated.

To prevent the Long-winged Gull from stealing them, he put the mashed fish bones in a plastic bottle, dug a hole, and buried it under the sand where they slept.

After doing all this, Yu Hai added more firewood to the campfire, ensuring it would last until morning, and prepared to sleep.

"Poliwag, I'm going to rest. If you can't sleep, keep watch for a while," Yu Hai leaned back against the large rock behind him, looking up at the starry night sky and letting out a big yawn.

This was the fifth night since he arrived on the deserted island. The busy survival efforts had made him miss his past life less.

He couldn't go back anyway, so thinking about it was useless.

"Never mind, I should just go to sleep quickly." Yu Hai pushed the longing from his mind. Actually, this world wasn't bad.

For him, he could bring a "dimensional strike" to this world. For many, it would indeed be a dimensional strike, but not for those with immense wealth.

Pokémon knowledge, which was useless in his previous life, might bring unexpected results in this world, but only if he could protect himself...

The Long-winged Gull, however, remained unfazed, leisurely preening its wings with its beak.

However, some things puzzled the Long-winged Gull: why would that human throw it food? It couldn't quite understand the human's strange behavior.

It hadn't eaten any of the food, of course. As a bird, it had basic caution. It wouldn't eat food offered by others unless it was sure it was safe.

Of course, it had secretly stashed one shell under its claws. It planned to taste the food the human had thrown once it returned to its nest.

No matter what the human's intentions were, it would be safe in its nest. The human couldn't find its nest anyway.

After preening its wings, the Long-winged Gull heard the Poliwag still chattering incessantly and scolding it. It paid no mind and instead opened its beak and called out, "Woo-oh, woo-oh, woo-oh..."

As it called out, the Long-winged Gull flapped its wings and flew away from the beach with a cooked shell in its beak.

Little did the Long-winged Gull know that its call was far more damaging than the Poliwag's scolding.

Because the Poliwag's defenses were breached again.

So, whoever gets serious loses. The Poliwag was still too immature.

Seeing the Long-winged Gull disappear completely, the Poliwag returned to the shelter dejectedly and lay down by Yu Hai's feet, its heavy eyes succumbing to deep fatigue.

Its eyes slowly closed, and the Poliwag fell asleep
