Mikan Gym, Dining Room...

By the time Yu Hai and Grandpa Dunmei returned, lunch had already been served in the Dining Room. Dunmei's family of four had been waiting there; only Yu Hai and Grandpa Dunmei had been missing.

The Pokémon had their own lunches as well. The Gym arranged everything, so the trainers did not need to worry. Yu Hai took a seat at the dining table.

However, two special little ones had not been released—Zapdos and Dragonair. He did not intend to expose them yet, so he could only feed them himself.

"Everyone's here. Let's eat," Grandpa Dunmei said, picking up his chopsticks and urging everyone else to do the same. "Don't just sit there looking. Our family doesn't stand on ceremony. Even if we did before, my son ruined all that."

As everyone gradually began eating lunch, Dunmei's Father cleared his throat twice and solemnly explained to Yu Hai and the other two, "Ahem, since you three are all here, I'll tell you about the rules of this Orange Tournament and the purpose behind it..."

The Preliminary Round uses a Two-on-Two format. It gives contestants a second chance in case they weren't prepared for their first match..."

"After that come the Group Stage, Knockout Stage, Semifinals, and finals..." Dunmei's Father paused. Seeing that all three were listening attentively, he continued, "There's something I must remind you of. If you want to win the Championship this year, you'll need to win six consecutive six-on-six full-team battles..."
