Preparing for the Competition

"Blastoise," Blastoise scratched its head and looked at Farfetch'd on the swing. They could not even beat Farfetch'd and Butterfree, let alone the other Pokémon. There was no need to battle to capture them. It raised a hand and pressed the Poké Ball button, returning in a red beam.

"Vulpix," Ninetales was even weaker than Blastoise. Since even Blastoise had not suggested battling for capture, it touched the Poké Ball button with the pad of its forepaw and was taken in by a red beam.

"I captured Blastoise and Ninetales." Yu Hai excitedly released the two Pokémon again. Venusaur and Charizard, having watched this unfold, lay back down on the terrace to bask in the sun.

They had no interest in humans capturing Pokémon. They only wanted to enjoy a comfortable life and stay away from all the turmoil...

After capturing Blastoise and Ninetales, Yu Hai introduced the two new Pokémon to everyone. From now on, they were all companions.

Before, they had been clone Pokémon. Even if they communicated, they were merely friendly neighbors exchanging greetings, not truly getting to know one another. But now it was different. They could throw their arms around each other's shoulders.

Seeing that everyone was getting along well, Yu Hai sat beneath the eaves and opened Blastoise's and Ninetales's Proficiency Panels, wanting to see how much Potential the two Pokémon had.

Logically speaking, Blastoise carried the genes of a cloned Starter, and it was even an official League Starter. Its Potential should not be bad. Ninetales, on the other hand, was harder to judge.

These two Pokémon had appeared at the Indigo League. Blastoise should have belonged to Xiaotian, and Ninetales had also been Xiaotian's Pokémon. Both were Pokémon clones from the same trainer.
