"Ash, Gary, go!"

"Huh?" Yu Hai heard the cheer and awkwardly scratched his cheek. Who cheered like that? Who was she even cheering for?

Ash's Mother seemed to realize that too. Seeing everyone looking at her, she could only smile awkwardly and stop shouting.

Ash and Gary each sent out their first Pokémon. Ash chose Snorlax, while Gary chose Nidoqueen. Both were heavyweight Pokémon.

Snorlax came out asleep. Ash could not wake it, so he could only rely on Sleep Talk and luck. In the end, it used Ice Punch and eliminated Gary's Nidoqueen.

Gary then sent out Scizor. Using its speed advantage, it kited Snorlax and eliminated it.

Facing Gary's Scizor, Ash sent out Charizard. Seizing an opening, one Flamethrower defeated Scizor.

"Not bad. Ash was still strong when he had the type advantage," Yu Hai said. He had always thought Ash had a reverse-type aura, but apparently he could fight just fine with favorable matchups too. The production team had not slacked off.

Against Charizard, Gary sent out his ace, Blastoise—the starter Pokémon he had received alongside Ash.

Once the battle began, Ash's Charizard could not get close to Blastoise. Ash had Charizard burn the rocks on the field. Once the rocks became scorching hot, Blastoise could only cool them with Hydro Pump, creating a huge amount of steam.

Using the steam as cover, Charizard finally closed in on Blastoise. Dragon Rage from its mouth was dodged, but then it grabbed Blastoise and used Seismic Toss, intending to defeat it in one go.

However, Blastoise used Withdraw in midair. It even sprayed Hydro Pump from its shell and used Rapid Spin, breaking free from Charizard's grip.

Blastoise returned to the ground and blasted Charizard in the face with Hydro Pump. Charizard immediately grew furious, swooping down to clash
