The twentieth day after leaving the Orange Islands, sunny.
After the storm ended, the sea was as calm as a vast sheet of blue silk. Sunlight poured down unobstructed, gilding the surface with shimmering gold. The air carried a faint scent of sea salt. Though it was still somewhat damp, the sticky feeling brought by last night's storm was gone.
Spider and the others were steering their rented yacht slowly northward, bound for Kumquat Island. The yacht's engine gave off a low, steady roar, while its stern dragged a long white wake across the sea, leaving behind the trace of their voyage.
The sea breeze brushed gently across the deck, carrying a slight chill that felt wonderfully refreshing against their faces.
Choosing Kumquat Island as a stopover had been the result of careful consideration. They did not want the rental company to notice the yacht's true route.
During their previous operation, the yacht had been parked near a deserted island off the coast of Navel Island. This time, heading north looked perfectly reasonable from a route standpoint.
According to their plan, once they reached Kumquat Island, they would immediately turn around and head south to Jinggan Island. Finally, they would sail the yacht to Penggan Island and return it, smoothly completing the entire rental process.
This voyage would not take too long, so everyone could use the time to get some proper rest aboard the yacht. The yacht was not moving very fast, but at this pace, they were expected to return to Jinggan Island by evening.
As for Spider and the others?
They were all sleeping soundly. After struggling through the entire night, everyone was exhausted. Once they had fed the Pokémon and hastily eaten something themselves, they began taking turns sleeping.
