Mei Terumi chose to become the Three-Tails' Jinchuriki and bait the Akatsuki, while Shizune and the others began sealing Isobu. When Isobu rampaged under Yukimaru's influence, Seiya went after the hidden threat, and Naruto joined him to confront Orochimaru.

• Mei Terumi told Kakashi and the others that she would become Isobu's Jinchuriki to draw the Akatsuki Organization to the Hidden Mist Village.

Obito mistook their arrival for a planned intervention, suspected Konan of betraying the Akatsuki, and decided to withdraw with the captured Nine-Tails.
