Background / History

Nawaki is Tsunade’s younger brother and Hashirama Senju’s grandson. He attends the Ninja Academy alongside Hyuga Matsuba, Uchiha Ken, and Namikaze Minato. His early behavior is reckless and cheeky—particularly toward Tsunade—but he is also openly competitive and dreams of becoming Hokage. 17 22 35

During the war, Nawaki insists on joining the battlefield to protect Konohagakure despite Matsuba’s objections and Tsunade’s fear that he is too weak to survive. The Senju Clan is deployed as part of the war effort, leaving Tsunade furious at the village leadership. 82 83

After being ambushed by someone from his own village, Nawaki loses faith in Konoha’s safety. Matsuba rescues him through spatial manipulation and advises him to leave, train in seclusion, and return only when he is strong enough to protect himself. 117
