A month had passed without seeing each other, yet Liu Qingyan and Kong Lan's relationship had progressed quite well. Or rather, Liu Qingyan could make friends with anyone.
"As I traveled around the area, I had to thank Miss Kong for smoothing things over for me. The common people all believed me at once," Liu Qingyan said.
"Not at all. Miss Liu healed the world with a hanging pot, with a doctor's benevolent heart. You personally traveled through mountain fortresses and villages to treat the sick among the lonely, widowed, elderly, and weak. I merely said a few words. It was what I should have done," Kong Lan said.
By then, Liu Qingyan had already prescribed medicine for every patient in the mountain village. The several witch doctors would handle brewing the medicine afterward, so Liu Qingyan no longer needed to concern herself with it. The village chief, Venerable Elder, and the others led all the villagers away, leaving the group some room to talk.
Inside a small shed at the eastern end of the village, they sat around a table, upon which lay dried fruit and tea sent by the villagers.
"Lu Lang, you have cultivated for so long. Have you made great progress?" Liu Qingyan asked with a smile.
"Of course!" Lu Zheng nodded. "This is Ling Xi's exclusive cave heaven. The cultivation speed boost is through the roof."
Liu Qingyan covered her mouth and chuckled, while Kong Lan looked utterly baffled.
Not only did Lu Zheng appear to possess not the slightest bit of refined scholarly bearing, he showed no embarrassment whatsoever about relying on Si Lingxi. And that last way of speaking had been frivolous and crude as well.
Just what had Si Lingxi and Liu Qingyan taken a liking to in him?
Kong Lan found
