Unfortunately, the image on the big screen was blurry.
Only a vague human face could be seen, and it was impossible to tell whether it was a man or a woman. The camera looked as though it had been wrapped in a layer of glue.
"Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, I am Song He, founder of Chenghuang Company and one of the developers of Brain Spring Beverage. Thank you very much for coming to hear my speech!"
"Unfortunately, due to work arrangements, I am unable to deliver this speech in person. Also, my computer's camera is a little broken, so the video quality may be less than satisfactory."
The audience fell silent. Why even explain? Even an idiot could tell you just don't want to show your face!
No one could even say for sure whether the person speaking on the big screen was Song He, but it didn't matter. Even if it was a stand-in, the speech's content was certainly what Song He wanted to convey.
The reporters were already in position. Some took photos while others wrote their articles.
"This speech is mainly intended to respond to some controversial remarks concerning Brain Spring Beverage."
"Richards, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, delivered what could be called a fearmongering speech about Brain Spring, claiming that Brain Spring Beverage would change the global order and even destroy humanity."
"Needless to say, Mr. Richards is talented. He would certainly have a bright future in the field of science-fiction writing. But when it comes to rigorous academic discussion, I believe Mr. Richards should retire."
The audience simultaneously turned their heads toward a thin, elderly man seated in the front row.
Richards put on an awkward, forced smile. A faint hint of anger showed on his face; he was clearly very unhappy at
