"It might work like a stimulant. It may not be anger—quite the opposite, it could be abnormally euphoric! Like... it's high!" Xiang Xiaotong pointed at the screen. "The overall trend of the neural data curve doesn't look like anger."
"Like a cat that's been given catnip? Hormone No. 5 acted like octopusnip?"
"Exactly."
Song He stared in shock at the octopus going berserk on the distant lab table. The effects of the hormone seemed to be slowly fading. The frequency of its flashing colors had slowed, and so had its spinning and slapping against the glass tank.
Of course, it was also possible that the drug's effects were still going strong and it was simply exhausted. After all, getting too high could easily kill you. A normal octopus couldn't keep spinning nonstop like a top.
"If Hormone No. 5 really is octopusnip, then once it regains consciousness, it probably won't show the same aggression toward humans as before." Xiang Xiaotong made her judgment.
"Instead, it might become affectionate toward Lou Jinghui? Try to curry favor with him and ask for more Hormone No. 5?" Song He caught on.
"Exactly." Xiang Xiaotong nodded.
The master and disciple spoke in low voices, so no one else could hear them.
Lou Jinghui watched the spinning octopus for a while. Apparently deciding that the top wouldn't stop anytime soon, he turned around and headed off to inject the other octopuses with hormones.
"Old Lou, stop right there and wait for the octopus to calm down!" Song He shouted. "This octopus is a little out of its mind. If you leave now, it might not recognize you anymore. I want to see how it treats you after it calms down!"
"After
