A sharp beep rang out.
A huge screen lit up on the wall beside the Sea Monster Pool, its size comparable to a movie theater screen.
The sea monster, which had been staring at the experimental monkeys, immediately turned around and cast its gaze at the big screen. Its tentacles then waved as it glided across the Sea Monster Pool and waited in front of the screen.
"What's this?" General Wang asked, gazing at the surveillance footage.
"An exam before meals!" Song He explained. "We use this big screen to give the sea monster questions and have it take simple tests. It only gets to eat after answering them correctly."
The sea monster floated before the big screen. A black dot suddenly appeared on the pure white display!
Immediately afterward, two black dots appeared side by side!
Then came three black dots, four black dots, increasing by one each time.
Four answer boxes suddenly appeared on the screen, each containing a different number of black dots. Option A had four dots, option B had five, option C had six, and option D had seven.
The sea monster quickly swept its gaze over them, extended a tentacle, and selected B without hesitation!
A huge green check mark popped up in the middle of the screen.
The check mark vanished, and the display changed again. Five black dots appeared side by side at the top, while the Arabic numerals from 1 to 10 appeared below, each inside an answer box.
The sea monster's tentacle moved without hesitation and jabbed directly at "5"!
A bright green check mark appeared, and all the answer boxes disappeared. The five black dots remained at the top of the screen, while a huge dotted box appeared below.
