Three in the morning.
Song He lay on the bed, dizzy and groggy, while Xiang Xiaotong sprawled on top of him like a kitten. The only sound left in the room was the faint hum of the air purifier.

Xiang Xiaotong was dazed for a moment before turning to look at him. Furrowing her brows, she said, "It was worth dying for!"

"Really, I'm not joking. I've had only one thought in my head this whole time: I haven't lived this life in vain." Xiang Xiaotong buried her face in his chest. "What was your thought?"
"Me? I didn't have any thoughts. My brain is about to melt." Song He took a deep breath. "It feels like my whole brain is a rotten fruit, constantly leaking brain matter down into my neck."
"I feel that way too. My brain feels like a scoop of ice cream melting in hot soup." Xiang Xiaotong smiled. "It feels like my intelligence has dropped. I've turned into a stupid animal."
