Professor Ma was stunned for a moment, then broke into a grin.
"How long have you been working on the artificial cornea project?"
"I only started less than a day ago, but I spent a long time preparing before that. I waited until I felt the timing was right before getting started." Song He was not lying. "It's like confessing your love. The confession is the signal for launching the final assault, but before confessing, you have to spend a long time going back and forth, building up feelings."
"Even so, wanting to make it within ten days isn't realistic, is it?" Professor Ma said with a smile.
"I have confidence that I can make a preliminary sample. As for large-scale commercial production, ten days definitely won't be enough. It'll still need to be refined for a while." Song He nodded.
"The real difficulty isn't the technology. It's the raw materials!"
"Many of the raw materials for my dedifferentiation solution are scattered around the world. I have to find a way to establish a stable raw-material supply chain. Otherwise, commercial production is out of the question!"
"You're looking too far ahead! Make a sample first, then talk. It isn't that easy!" Professor Ma still shook his head.
"I have an old doctoral schoolmate who makes artificial corneas. He works with modified pig corneas. The difficulty is enormous, and he's been at it for seven or eight years with very little progress. You want to use human skin to make a cornea? That'll be even harder!"
"Then that's bad news for you, Professor Ma." Song He laughed. "Once I finish this, your old schoolmate might lose his job."
When Song He returned to the laboratory, the team members had already arrived, and they continued working methodically.
Song He felt even
