Background / History

Shrek Academy was co-founded by Yu Xiaogang, known as “Master” and remembered within the academy as a theoretical authority. Its legacy, prestige, and championship record have made Shrek City a sacred destination for Soul Masters across the continent. 11 49

The academy is renowned for its principle of accepting “monsters, not ordinary people.” Its long-established Soul Master training system has produced generations of influential powerhouses, while its history is visibly commemorated through campus monuments bearing the names of outstanding alumni. 147

Under Sea God Pavilion Master Mu En, Shrek maintained a neutral stance toward continental powers. Mu En declined Jing Hongchen’s proposal for an alliance with the Sun Moon Empire, rejecting any future built on war or a single power’s hegemony. 127

Following Mu En’s death, Yan Shaozhe led Shrek’s student exchange delegation to the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy. The academy later faced a direct Holy Spirit Cult assault on Sea God Island. 146 172

Shrek Seven Devils

All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament

Shrek Academy entered the tournament as its long-standing defending champion. Its reputation was so imposing that other academies and spectators treated its reserve-team deployment as either exceptional confidence or arrogance. 75 77

Before the competition, Shrek’s main team suffered severe injuries and one fatality, leaving Ma Xiaotao, Dai Yueheng, and Ling Luochen as its remaining main players. The reserve team was therefore forced to bear much of the tournament burden. 79
