Background / History

Di Tian is the ruler of the Star Dou Great Forest and the acknowledged leader of its Ten Great Fierce Beasts. He is also identified as the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King, the guardian of the Dragon God, and the son of the Dark Dragon King. His standing among Soul Beasts is such that even Gu Yuena, the Silver Dragon King and co-lord of the Soul Beast race, receives his immediate reverence. 106 134 140

As a long-lived Soul Beast leader, Di Tian is deeply concerned with the decline and eventual extinction of the Soul Beast race. He understands that humanity has become too strong to be simply eradicated, despite the conflict created by humans hunting Soul Beasts for Soul Rings. 136 137

In his human form, Di Tian appears as a stern, exceptionally handsome man dressed in a dark dragon robe embroidered with dark-gold dragon patterns. His golden eyes are described as majestic and penetrating, while his presence makes the surrounding air feel heavy. 134

Personality

Di Tian is authoritative, suspicious, and pragmatic. He does not tolerate disorder in the Star Dou Great Forest, initially reprimanding the Ice Empress for acting presumptuously within his territory and later attacking her to uncover the source of her altered power and behavior. 134 135

Despite his hostility toward humans and skepticism toward Li Changsheng, Di Tian is not blindly impulsive. He listens when Li Changsheng frames his proposal around the survival of the Soul Beast race, demands proof rather than accepting extraordinary claims outright, and ultimately considers cooperation once Red King's sacrifice verifies Li Changsheng's method. 136 138 141

He is also capable of adapting when presented with practical solutions. After agreeing to support Li Changsheng's plans, Di Tian proposes covertly obtaining resources from corrupt human powers rather than launching an open assault that could provoke a destructive human–Soul Beast war. 142

Encounter with the Ice Empress

Di Tian appears after the Ice Empress defeats the Three-Headed Crimson Demon Mastiff in the Star Dou Great Forest. He immediately detects that her strength is abnormal and questions the source of her transformation. 134

When the Ice Empress refuses to explain why she protects Li Changsheng, Di Tian attacks her with a Dragon Claw to force out the truth. Li Changsheng intervenes and prevents the conflict from escalating, framing the incident as a misunderstanding involving an Imperial Beast. 135

Negotiations at the Lake of Life

Li Changsheng approaches Di Tian with a proposal concerning the Soul Beast race's future. Though Di Tian initially mocks the idea of bargaining with a mere Soul Ancestor, he agrees to hear him out after Li Changsheng identifies the proposal as relevant to Soul Beast survival. 136

Di Tian rejects Li Changsheng's first proposed solution—eliminating humanity—as unrealistic in the present era. He then questions Li Changsheng's claim that Soul Beasts can preserve their consciousness after sacrificing to him. 137 138

To verify the claim, Di Tian orders Red King to sacrifice to Li Changsheng. Red King's intact soul and later recovery force Di Tian to reassess Li Changsheng and the power behind him. 139 141

Cooperation with Li Changsheng

After the sacrifice test, Di Tian joins discussions with Gu Yuena and the other Fierce Beasts regarding a cooperative arrangement with Li Changsheng.
