Drip...
Drip...
The light sound of water droplets echoed continuously through the silent cave.
Suddenly, a distorted vortex appeared out of thin air within the cave. Obito, clad in the Akatsuki's red-cloud cloak and wearing a spiral mask, stepped out of it.
As Obito appeared, Zetsu silently emerged halfway from the ground. He looked Obito over and smiled. "Looks like things went very smoothly!"
Obito nodded and said calmly, "He underestimated me too much."
The "he" Obito referred to was undoubtedly Nagato.
In Obito's view, Nagato had actually been harder to ambush when his body was crippled, because Nagato had been highly vigilant then. Most of the time, he showed himself through the Deva Path, and even Obito had found it difficult to determine where his true body was hidden. Yet after Nagato had completely fused with the First Hokage Cells, fully recovered physically, and grown stronger and stronger, opportunities to ambush him had become easier to find instead.
When Obito made his move this time, Nagato had not even dared to believe he truly had such audacity. It was clear that Nagato had indeed looked down on him somewhat.
Having received Obito's confirmation, Zetsu secretly breathed a sigh of relief. No matter what, ambushing Nagato had been an extremely risky undertaking. Obito's success had involved at least some luck.
After fully emerging from the ground, Zetsu continued, "Have you heard? The leader of the God Organization isn't Otsutsuki Toneri on the moon!"
Obito nodded slightly. "Yes, we were all played by him!"
Thoughtfully, Zetsu said, "He also proposed the concept of a 'Six Paths level.'"
Obito glanced at Zetsu. "Do you think he was telling the truth this time?"
Zetsu shook his head and said gravely, "It's still hard to tell, but my clone monitored his battle with Nagato.
