Rin's eye twitched as she said speechlessly, "At a time like this, you're still worrying about something so trivial! Shouldn't you be visiting the major shinobi clans like the other candidates? I heard Kakashi has already visited several families!"
As Tsunade's disciple, Rin naturally heard all sorts of news about the Hokage Faction.
"Eh, Kakashi would actually do something like that?"
Hyuga Kagami froze for a moment, then burst into hearty laughter.
Rin sat across from Hyuga Kagami and rubbed her forehead. "Honestly, I don't know what to do with you. I secretly asked around about the odds, but since the village hasn't announced the matchups for the candidates' bouts yet, the odds haven't been set. Still, I heard rumors outside that your odds seem to be the highest."
"My odds are the highest..."
The corner of Hyuga Kagami's mouth lifted.
"And you can still laugh? High odds mean everyone thinks you're the least likely to win!" After a pause, Rin said indignantly, "Hmph, what gives them the right to look down on you?"
Among the four Hokage candidates, Shisui possessed the Uchiha Clan's Mangekyō Sharingan and was publicly recognized as Konoha's strongest shinobi. Fugaku was the current head of the Uchiha Clan and a veteran Elite Jonin of the village. Kakashi was the White Fang's son, a hero of the Third Shinobi World War, and had become famous throughout the shinobi world under the nickname "Copy Ninja." He was also the successor favored by the Third Hokage.
Compared to them, Hyuga Kagami, this rising star, was somewhat lacking in both status and accomplishments. It was only natural that people did not think highly of him.
Hyuga Kagami comforted her, "All right, don't be angry. Aren't you happy that I became a Hokage candidate?"
