Background

Hyuga Kagami began as a Hyuga Branch Family member burdened by poor innate potential. With only 17 activated special gene sequences, he considered Special Jonin the likely ceiling of his conventional career. His connection to Orochimaru during the Third Shinobi World War later made him politically suspect, but Kagami understood that the Hyuga Clan itself lacked the influence to shield him from the village's power structure. 3 22

Rather than accept that limitation, Kagami pursued hidden bloodline legacies, Orochimaru's research, and his own long-term plans. He decided he could no longer remain Orochimaru's disposable subordinate and would instead make himself an indispensable partner. 8

After acquiring the Third Kazekage Human Puppet from Sasori, Kagami began cultivating a more visible, confident public image in Konoha while concealing the Tenseigan and his research.
