Ayari hurried to Shin's residence and happened to see Ayano doing housework in the living room.
The two exchanged a glance. Ayano said nothing, while Ayari stormed into the study in a fury.
Shin, who had been reading, glanced at her upon hearing the noise and said flatly, "Why didn't you knock?"
Ayari slammed both hands onto the desk with a bang. "Shin!"
Shin helplessly set down his book and asked, "What is it?"
Ayari demanded angrily, "What's going on with my sister?"
"What happened to her?"
"Don't play dumb. How can you humiliate her like this?!"
She leaned her entire body forward, nearly pressing herself against the desk as she questioned Shin.
Shin replied calmly, "She is no longer part of the Main Branch. If she continues receiving the Main Branch's treatment, the clan will have objections."
Ayari said, "Even so, you can't make her your servant! Does she even know how to do all those chores?"
"If she doesn't know, she can learn slowly. Besides, she is willing to do all this."
"Willing, my ass! That was clearly your idea. Would she dare refuse you?"
Shin leaned back in his chair and said unhurriedly, "She wouldn't dare refuse me. No one in the clan except you would dare refuse me."
Seeing him abruptly steer the conversation elsewhere, Ayari no longer wanted to waste words on him. She immediately turned and left the study, grabbed Ayano's hand, and tried to pull her away.
Ayano could not help asking, "Where are we going?"
Ayari said, "To my place!"
But Ayano remained where she was and shook off Ayari's hand.
Ayari froze at once.
Ayano said softly, "It's fine, Ayari. I'm very willing to stay here."
Ayari stared at her in disbelief. "You..."
Ayano even smiled and continued, "Thank you, Ayari.
