The Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal was one of Root's methods of controlling its subordinates. It ensured that those placed under the technique would remain tight-lipped about all information concerning Danzo.
Yet all Sealing Jutsu followed the same basic principle: the caster used their own Chakra to influence the target's Chakra. To Shin, it was no more difficult than peeling tape off a seal; the only difference was how firmly each sealing technique stuck.
Still, the process of removing the cursed seal was rather torturous for Yakushi Nonō. She had to keep her mouth open the entire time, her tongue extended and held between Shin's two fingers.
After maintaining that position for so long, saliva began to fill her mouth uncontrollably, and her tongue grew sore and numb.
Nonō could indeed feel a faint thread of Chakra lingering around her tongue.
Only after half an hour did Shin finally release her. He took a tissue from the side and wiped his wet fingers.
Nonō felt as though she had been granted a pardon. She pulled out a tissue to wipe her mouth, went over to a nearby trash can, spat out all the saliva in her mouth, and let out a long breath.
"The curse has been lifted," Shin said.
Nonō did not feel any obvious change. She tried quietly mentioning something about Danzo and found that her body remained perfectly unharmed.
"Go back and prepare. Organize everything into records, then bring me what I want."
"I understand."
Nonō bowed and took her leave. When she returned to the orphanage, a group of children immediately gathered around her, excitedly telling her that a group of adults had come today and brought them many things—clothes, snacks, toys, and books.
Seeing the smiles blooming across the children's faces, her heart softened as well.
