Since Young Master Zhang had been killed, Qin Fengming naturally wouldn't stop there. The Zhang Clan was the most wicked in Tenglong Town, and he wouldn't rest until they were uprooted.
When he returned to the Zhang Manor, the banquet in the main hall had not yet ended.
Qin Fengming re-cloaked himself in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity to eliminate the main culprit of the Zhang Clan.
"Quick, someone! Young Master Zhang is dead, Young Master Zhang is dead!"
"Young Master Zhang has been murdered!"
Only a short while later, a sudden, piercing scream erupted from the otherwise quiet rear residence of the Zhang Manor, followed by the wails of several women.
The shrill cries carried far into the deep night, sounding increasingly eerie and terrifying.
In the main hall of the Zhang Manor, those drinking were startled by the commotion, unsure of what had happened. Just as Zhang Chang, the head of the Zhang Clan, who was seated in the center, called for his family to investigate, a person came running into the hall, stumbling.
"Master, bad news! Young Master Zhang was killed in the side room."
Before the person even entered the hall, he had already fallen to his knees, trembling uncontrollably, clearly terrified.
"Zhang Rong, what exactly happened? Your young master was fine just a moment ago, how could he have been assassinated now? Speak quickly!" Shocked, Zhang Chang slammed the table and demanded sternly.
"Young Master Zhang died in the back annex. He was stabbed through the chest, blood flowed everywhere, and he's already dead," Zhang Rong stammered, jolted by Zhang Chang's shout.
Hearing Zhang Rong's words, everyone in the hall stood up and, following Zhang Chang, hurried towards the rear residence.
Upon arriving outside the room, a crowd of servants had already gathered. They stood at the doorway, eyes wide with fear, unsure of what to do. Looking inside, they saw Young Master Zhang lying on the ground, unconscious, with blood splattered everywhere, a truly gruesome sight.
An elder stepped forward, felt for the young master's breath, and then shook his head.
"How did your young master die? Tell me in detail," Zhang Chang's face changed drastically upon seeing his son truly dead. He sternly questioned Zhang Rong and the others.
Despite his son's death, Zhang Chang had not lost his reason.
At Zhang Chang's reprimand, Zhang Rong trembled and stammered, kneeling on the ground, "Just now, Young Master Zhang came here to check on the woman they captured. He went inside and then drove us all out. He said he wanted to deal with the young woman personally."
"We left the room, and after about the time it takes to eat a meal, we saw no movement from inside, so we came to check. We called out several times from outside, but no one answered. Only then did we push open the door and saw the young master lying on the ground, covered in blood, with no breath left." After speaking, Zhang Rong seemed to lose all strength and collapsed onto the ground.
"Where is that woman? Where is she now? Quickly find her," an elder asked immediately upon hearing Zhang Rong's words.
"We didn't see her when we came in. We don't know where she went," a servant dared to reply.
"Search the entire manor immediately! No one is allowed to leave. We must find that woman," Zhang Chang roared. The guards all agreed and scattered to search.
Seeing everyone in a panic, the elder said to the servants, "Quickly find a coffin and prepare the young master for burial." The servants bustled about, each going their separate ways.
Zhang Chang led everyone back to the front hall, seething with anger.
Within the time it took to drink a cup of tea, the entire Zhang Manor had been thoroughly searched by guards and servants. To their disappointment, no trace of the woman was found.
Seeing no results, Zhang Chang furiously ordered someone to go to the woman's home and arrest her.
"Father, don't worry. We'll definitely find out what happened. I'll personally go and capture that woman. We'll question her and avenge Elder Brother."
With that, a boy of twelve or thirteen years old stepped out of the hall, leading several servants towards the entrance of the Zhang Manor.
Not long after the boy left, the lights in the main hall suddenly went out simultaneously. Instantly, the spacious hall plunged into darkness as black as ink. Chaos erupted, and shouts arose.
Someone cried out, "Don't panic, quickly light the lamps!"
After a flurry of fumbling, the servants finally managed to light the lamps. But as everyone, still shaken, looked towards the Zhang family patriarch seated in the center, they saw him slumped over the table, blood continuously flowing from his neck.
"Ah! Master, the Master has also been killed!"
Suddenly confronted with such a bloody scene, no one present could remain calm. Amidst their cries, they fled the hall, and the newly lit lamps were extinguished again. Such a bizarre event unfolding before their eyes struck everyone with fear, and no one dared to step foot into the main hall again.
The young boy had only just left the main gate when he heard a great commotion from the Zhang Manor in the distance, faintly hearing the words, "Master Zhang is dead." He was greatly alarmed and quickly turned back. Seeing the courtyard filled with terrified people and the main hall shrouded in darkness.
"Nephew, just now... just now your father was murdered in the main hall."
Upon hearing this, the young boy's expression turned cold. However, there was little panic on his face. With a wave of his hand, he formed a hand seal with his left hand and steadily walked towards the main hall.
Darkness meant blindness to mortals, but for this young boy, the main hall was no different than during the day. All the objects were clearly visible.
Inside the main hall, the scent of blood was strong. He saw his father slumped over the table, blood pooling on the floor. A clear sword mark was visible on his neck.
After a brief hesitation, he reached into his robes and took out a yellow piece of paper. With a flick of his wrist, a yellow light attached itself to him. His figure flickered, and the young master of the Zhang Clan moved like a bird, appearing in the courtyard. With another flicker, he ascended into the air.
Witnessing this scene, the dozens of people present were instantly stunned into silence.
The young boy hovered in the air, not showing any signs of panic. After a brief scan of his surroundings, he spotted a figure, faintly visible in the distance, rapidly fleeing.
"Hmph, brat, where do you think you're going?" A stern shout rang out. To everyone's astonishment, the young boy vanished from their sight like the wind.
After assassinating Zhang Chang, Qin Fengming did not linger in the Zhang Manor. He leaped out and intended to return to the inn.
In his mind, with his speed, even that young man with immortal arts would surely not be able to catch up. At this moment, having not yet witnessed any immortal techniques, he had no desire to compete with the young master.
As he neared the inn, Qin Fengming suddenly heard a sound and abruptly turned his head. He saw a dark silhouette rapidly approaching him from the distance. After a moment's hesitation, the dark figure was already within thirty feet of him.
Upon seeing this, Qin Fengming was filled with great fear. Such speed was something he had never witnessed before, except in himself. Without thinking further, his body flashed, and he unleashed his Azure Cloud Maze movement technique, sprinting towards the outskirts of the town. In the blink of an eye, he had covered dozens of feet.
