He Lu and his younger brother He Jie sought Qin Fengming’s cooperation in obtaining Hundred Condensing Fragrance. He Jie could not remove restriction energy Qin had placed in the bodies of roughly a hundred Demon Commander cultivators, and asked Qin to help them 1601. He Lu then argued that the treasure was reason enough for Qin to join forces with the brothers 1602.

Near the Zhiyin Sect, He Lu threatened to kill its members unless they lowered their protective formation and surrendered. The sect accused his force of burning, killing, and looting in the surrounding area 1606.

When the source of the Hundred Condensing Fragrance was no longer secret, He Lu proposed that his side and Qin each take half of the crystal stone associated with it. He argued that the stone had been found by his people's forebears, while acknowledging that moving it might prevent it from producing more fragrance 1614. Later, Qin found He Lu in his custody; on waking and discovering his magic power was constrained, He Lu told Qin that his fate was in Qin’s hands 1628.
