In an instant, shattered shells and sharp spines flew everywhere. Puttess were not merely melee-type Zerg; they also possessed ranged attacks. Each Puttess had three spines hidden inside its mouth. Each spine was a meter long, and after firing, it had to return to the Bug Nest to be replenished with biological energy.
After one volley, the earth-yellow Bug Nest was already riddled with holes, and the broodmother inside had been turned into a hedgehog.
Five minutes later, the battle ended. The remaining 1,175 Puttess began cleaning up the battlefield, while the accompanying mantis-armored Zerg carried fragments of the Bug Nest on their backs. The Zerg army marched back in formation. This was the fifth Bug Nest they had destroyed.
Two kilometers south of the battlefield, three Contractors were either standing or half-crouching. One of them was observing through a telescope. The man wore a khaki combat uniform, and his bald head made him look rather fierce.
