"Are you stupid? Run!"
Nita pulled the rapier from her chest, tossed it lightly, and gripped the hilt.
Shang Yue fell silent for a moment, then took out a small piece of white wax and charged into the black mist. If she hesitated at a time like this, she would be a hopeless teammate.
As soon as Shang Yue reached the doorway, Baja blocked her way. Baja looked somewhat depressed—it couldn't fly right now.
The smile gradually vanished from Nita's face. The reason she wasn't running was that she knew she couldn't escape.
As for why she was covering Shang Yue's escape, and whether it was because of their friendship? Absolutely not. Nita was a very clever woman. She knew she had become embroiled in enormous trouble. Although she still didn't know how enormous that trouble was, if it wasn't handled properly, everyone connected to her would die. Not one of them would be left alive.
There were two ways to resolve this trouble. One: create the illusion that she and Shang Yue had developed a deep friendship. That way, everything would make sense. Two: kill Su Xiao. That would sever the source of the trouble.
Clearly, killing Su Xiao was harder, so Nita chose the first option.
Just as Nita was wondering whether there were any loopholes left, a long blade slashed toward her. She instinctively raised her rapier horizontally in front of herself.
Clang.
The rapier snapped, and the long blade cut across Nita's throat, sending blood spraying. Her physical defense was practically nonexistent beneath Dragon Slayer Flash's edge.
Nita's eyes widened because she could feel that Su Xiao was far stronger than before.
Even with her throat split open, Nita didn't give up fighting. She shifted her body to the side, trying to pounce sideways.
An opening!
