| Blue, 48% Edge Value | 197 | Absorbed a blue longsword; gained Rc Cell Rhythm, increasing Stamina, while its durability, attack power, and rating increased. |
| Blue +5 | 198 | Reached +5 enhancement; gained increased armor penetration and a further enhancement to Rc Cell Rhythm. |

| Transformation initiated | 2961 | Devoured eight Holy Spirit-grade long blades, beginning a ten-hour transformation; no resulting quality is stated. |
Background
Dragon Slayer Flash was originally a Blue-grade weapon but degraded to White quality after suffering severe damage. It had previously been abandoned by Dragon Slayer Swordsman Ryuma because of that damage. Su Xiao acquired it at the Royal Capital's armory, where its recorded durability was 35/40 8 85.
Even in its initial White-grade state, its rating had reached the maximum of 10, placing it among the strongest White equipment and allowing it to surpass some Green-grade weapons in sharpness 15 36. It became Su Xiao's most trusted weapon through repeated battles, prompting him to maintain it personally despite repair services being available in Reincarnation Paradise 85.
After unlocking Supreme Edge, Su Xiao permanently bound the sword to the ability. The binding restored its damage, made it untradeable, and allowed Su Xiao to sense its position even from roughly ten meters away through two walls 135. Thereafter, Su Xiao repeatedly sacrificed compatible blades to develop it rather than replacing it, deliberately refusing abilities that would compromise its structure or conflict with Blue Steel Shadow 240 261.
Appearance
Dragon Slayer Flash is a long, slender blade with an exceptionally sharp edge. It was initially described as slightly curved and longer than Ryuma's Autumn Water; after reaching Purple quality, it was described as long, straight, and razor-sharp 135 261.
- Its surface emits a pale-blue or deep-blue glow when enhanced or coated in Blue Steel Shadow energy 138 197.
- At Light Gold quality, its edge carries a nearly blinding golden gleam 641.
- Its sharpness is sufficient to pierce a floor under its own falling weight 639.
Abilities & Skills
Supreme Edge
Dragon Slayer Flash is bound to Supreme Edge, allowing it to consume blade-type weapons of suitable quality for Edge Value and quality advancement 135 260.
- Restored the blade's original damage upon binding 135.
- Raises durability, attack power, rating, and sharpness as the weapon advances 138 261.
- Allows one additional passive attribute to be extracted from a sacrificed weapon; replacing it permanently discards the prior choice 135.
- Requires increasingly valuable blade sacrifices as its quality rises 261 638.
- Imperial Arms can be consumed, but inheriting their abilities may alter the blade's internal structure 236 240.
Extreme Sharpness
The sword's defining trait is sharpness. Su Xiao consistently prioritizes sharpness-based traits over abilities that would alter the weapon into a different kind of blade 240 639.
- Its Sharpness bonus reached +4 at Blue quality, +7 at Purple, +11 at Dark Purple, and +16 at Light Gold before additional passive sharpness effects 138 261 460 639.
- Iron-Cutting Edge provided an additional Sharpness +8 after the Light Gold advancement 639.
- Ten Thousand Blades Sect later provided Sharpness +10 and evolved from Iron-Cutting Edge 641.
- It can cleave shields, bone, Kagune armor, and metal weapons under suitable conditions 93 170 3416.
Ten Thousand Blades Sect
At Light Gold quality, Dragon Slayer Flash possessed Ten Thousand Blades Sect 641.
- Adds Sharpness +10 641.
- If a slash dismembers an enemy, the lost limb cannot be regenerated through surgery, potions, skills, bloodline abilities, or methods below the Fourth Order 641.
- Particularly counters enemies dependent on extreme regeneration or “immortal physique” effects 641.
Armor Penetration and Defense Reduction
Enhancement and absorbed abilities granted the sword anti-defense properties.
- The +5 enhancement effect increases armor penetration 198.
- Shadow Dance Break, held during the Dark Purple stage, reduced defense by 8% per slash for 20 seconds, stacking to 24% 460.
- At three stacks, Shadow Dance Break also triggered Bloodletting, dealing damage over time and reducing healing received by 30% 365.
Blue Steel Shadow Conduction
Su Xiao can coat Dragon Slayer Flash in Blue Steel Shadow energy, giving its strikes energy-burning true damage 88 172.
- The coating appears as pale-blue electrical arcs along the blade 88 217.
- High-output coating can sharply increase the energy damage inflicted through a successful strike 172.
- Blue Steel Shadow's energy conflicts with Murasame's curse poison, one reason Su Xiao rejected that inherited ability 240.
- Su Xiao later developed Shadow Thorn, forming pale-blue spikes along the blade for greater penetration after a thrust 480.
Equipment Enhancements
- Moon's Splendor — Gemstone inlaid into Zhanlongshan; increases Su Xiao's slash speed by 18% 1803.
- Phantom Demon Stone — Used during enhancement attempts to negate one failure penalty; if enhancement succeeds, the stone is not consumed 461 640.
- Divine Afterglow — Dark Purple scabbard that improves the blade's surface condition during daily use 389 542.
Relationships
- Su Xiao — Owner, wielder, and the only documented person meeting the weapon's requirement as an Inheritor of the Shadow of Law Destruction. He treats it as his most reliable weapon and continually invests resources into its growth 85 135.
- Dragon Slayer Swordsman Ryuma — Formerly abandoned the damaged blade; Dragon Slayer Flash visually resembles Ryuma's Autumn Water without being identical to it 85 135.
- Iron Master — Recognized Dragon Slayer Flash as a growth weapon and showed immediate greed toward it 433.
Story Role / Major Arcs
- Early combat use — Proved reliable even while White-grade, piercing the Master of Mt. Colubo's skull and serving as Su Xiao's principal weapon against ghouls 15 47.
- Tokyo Ghoul conflicts — Pierced, pinned, and cut through Kagune defenses; Blue Steel Shadow coating allowed it to damage energy-based opponents more effectively 37 88 93.
- Supreme Edge binding — Became a growth weapon after its damage was repaired and its sacrificial advancement system was unlocked 135.
- Akame ga Kill! arc — Cleaved a two-meter heavy shield in one slash, fought Murasame directly, and devoured several Imperial Arms solely to advance its Edge Value 170 217 240.
- Fenrir battle — Used as a thrown weapon to pierce Fenrir's throat after Esdeath slowed the wolf 206.
- Hunter x Hunter arc — Su Xiao drove the blade through his own chest to force a killing thrust through Chrollo Lucilfer's jaw and skull after sealing his spatial movement 626.
- Later development — Its Light Gold sharpness and anti-regeneration effect became central to Su Xiao's close-range fighting style against high-regeneration opponents 639 641.
Trivia
- Dragon Slayer Flash is untradeable after being bound to Supreme Edge 135.
- Su Xiao can sense the sword's location after binding it, reducing the risk of losing it in combat 135.
- Su Xiao rejected Fire Blade, Murasame's curse poison, and Eight Houses' summoning ability because each threatened to alter the blade's structure or interfere with Blue Steel Shadow 236 240.
- Its description evolves alongside its growth, beginning with “Lost, met, fought together, reborn!” and later adding “growth,” “awakened,” and “legend” 135 261 639.
