Inside the Redemption Church, the Saintess stood up. She first bowed gently to Su Xiao, then walked toward the stone pillar at the center of the church.
The Saintess knelt before the stone pillar. She clasped her hands in front of her, closed her eyes, and murmured something.
"My lord, please tell me your name. If you do not wish for me to know, please forgive my offense."
The Saintess's voice was not loud, but it was gentle.
"Kukulin, Byakuya, the one who uses a blade. Any of those will do."
"Lord Kukulin Byakuya, the one who uses a blade."
The Saintess was rather straightforward and gave the full name.
"That's too long."
"Lord Byakuya."
"Don't add 'Lord.' It sounds strange."
"I'm sorry, Lord Byakuya. I can't do that."
While kneeling before the stone pillar, the Saintess kept her back to Su Xiao the entire time. It was clearly a sign of great trust.
"Compared with Lady Nun and Lady Priest, there is very little help I can offer you. I'm sorry. You awakened someone as foolish as me. I'm sorry."
Tears slid down the Saintess's cheeks. She was mourning the names on the stone pillar. All of them had died resisting fate. Knowing that everything was inevitable, they had still struggled to the death.
Compared with Dawn, Laurent, and Gus from the Wizarding World, the situation in the Redemption Church could only be described as desperate.
