The sky was clear as a scaled vulture soared through it. Its wingspan was nearly three meters, and its sharp eyes surveyed the ground below, inspecting its territory.
After circling several times at high altitude, the semicircular light membrane in the valley below caught the scaled vulture's attention. Just as it was about to dive, it suddenly stopped. It sensed danger—a crisis that made all the feathers and scales on its body puff up.
Seeking benefits and avoiding harm was an animal's instinct, and the scaled vulture was an extraordinary creature at that. Although it hadn't detected the Bug Nest in the ring-shaped valley, it had sensed Su Xiao's aura. Thus, it left the area and wouldn't return anytime soon.
Within the ring-shaped valley, the surrounding mountain walls were extremely steep. If the top of the valley were covered, this place would become a cavern more than 2,000 meters in diameter and over 230 meters high. The only exit was One-Line Sky ahead.
Su Xiao had indeed planned to do that, but there weren't enough basic Zerg at present to complete such a massive project.
In Su Xiao's view, the Zerg could essentially be divided into two major categories: combat Zerg and basic Zerg. The former was easy to understand, while the latter was the key to maintaining the Bug Nest.
Most basic Zerg had no combat ability. Mantiseshells were one such species, but they were the lowest grade and had very low work efficiency. The more outstanding basic Zerg came in two types:
Worker Scorpions: evolved from Mantiseshells, they were mainly responsible for constructing Zerg buildings, maintaining the fungal carpet, and modifying terrain.
Spore Tanks: colossal Zerg with no combat ability, responsible for transportation.
Besides these two types of basic Zerg, there were many others, but none were suitable
