The withered trees seemed ready to burst into flames. Only a scant few tender leaves could be seen on each tree, while bite marks covered the trunks.
The ground was flooded with knee-deep water. Dead leaves, insects, and rodent carcasses floated on the surface. Under the direct sunlight, a foul, stench-laced odor spread throughout the area.
There were quite a few living creatures inside the Holy Land. More accurately, this place had a unique ecosystem, and species unable to adapt had already died out.
Those that had survived had undergone more or less some mutations. The power of the sun within their bodies allowed them to ignore the scorching radiance of the "sun."
The "Warm Forest" was the outermost region of the Blazing Sun Holy Land. Its name was misleading—this place was extremely dangerous, but compared with the other areas of the Holy Land, it could barely be considered safe.
Su Xiao waded through the knee-deep, filthy water. Baja flew several meters above him, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings.
"Byakuya, have you found any trace of those two?"
Father, who was several meters away, spoke. His face was pale. He had just been injured by the Sun Warrior. A penetrating wound coupled with damage to some internal organs was not a serious injury to Father, but for some reason, his condition had been terrible ever since he escaped.
"Have you been affected by the Sun Warrior's ability?"
