Inside the dilapidated temple, blood streamed down the walls. A figure sat slumped against one of them, star patterns covering his face and exposed skin. He was a member of the Star Clan from the Void.
"You are... who? I don't have... any painting fragments. What's the point of killing me...?"
The Star Clan member looked calm. In truth, he hadn't been born a member of the Star Clan. He had been a prisoner bought by them. When he awoke, he found that he had taken on the appearance of a Star Clan member, after which they had sent him to participate in this painting-fragment competition.
That was typical of the Star Clan's style. Among all the great races of the Void, the Star Clan was the most exclusionary. Anyone who married into the Star Clan, whether as a bride or a son-in-law, had to become a Star Clan member afterward.
However, there was one thing to note. Although the Star Clan was exclusionary, anyone who married into it became one of their own. The Star Clan was famous for protecting its own and standing united.
The mixed-blood Star Clan members transformed from prisoners were a method the Star Clan often used. They treasured their people greatly. The Star Clan was the sort that would laugh warmly with you as long as you didn't provoke them. Even after being provoked, they would still smile and reason with you. But if the other side refused to reason, the Star Clan would slaughter their entire family without leaving a single survivor.
Their initial contact was gentle and amiable, with their arrogance hidden in their hearts. But once a Star Clan member sensed that he had become enemies with someone, he would immediately transform into an executioner, becoming as ruthless as possible.
