Just then, information about the Derivative World finally appeared before Su Xiao.
Entering World: Tokyo Ghoul
World Difficulty: Lv.3. Hard (Difficulty lowered due to average Contractor strength.)
World Source: 0% (Increases as the Hunter explores or interacts with characters in the current world. At settlement, it will be calculated alongside mission difficulty to form the final rating.)
World Introduction: In the chaotic, noisy modern society of Tokyo, a man-eating monster spreads. People call them Ghouls. Ghouls look identical to normal humans, but when the Rc Cells inside their bodies become active, their eyes turn red. Ghouls maintain the activity of their Rc Cells by devouring humans, and those Rc Cells grant them physical abilities far beyond ordinary people.
Main Mission: Join the CCG (Ghoul Investigator) or a Ghoul faction (Aogiri Tree, Clown). Subsequent missions will activate after the Hunter joins a faction.
Hunter Mission: Eliminate Violator No. 12470, a Contractor. When the Hunter enters within one kilometer of Contractor No. 12470, the tracking function will activate automatically.
Warning: Do not mention anything related to 'Paradise' in this world. If the warning is ignored, execution will be enforced!
Tip: The main mission for this world is a chain mission. After completing three main missions, you may choose to return to Reincarnation Paradise (the Hunter must complete the Hunter Mission). The more main missions completed, the higher the comprehensive evaluation.
Tip: Detected that the Hunter has not mastered this world's language. 100 Paradise Coins have been consumed to automatically master this world's language.
World, Begin!
Seeing that the world difficulty was Lv.3, Su Xiao let out a long breath, and a smile couldn't help but appear on his face.
Finally, it wasn't a life-threatening nightmare difficulty. He wouldn't have to be as stifled as he was in the One Piece World. Now he just needed to assess the strength of the Ghouls and the CCG.
This was Su Xiao's first time receiving a chain main mission. As for which side to choose, he would naturally pick the CCG.
Joining the Ghouls was a very bad choice. Not to mention his identity as a human, the Ghouls' habit of hiding everywhere made them seem untrustworthy.
As for the Hunter Mission, Su Xiao was completely in the dark. He had no idea who this unlucky bastard named No. 12470 was.
He had no leads now. The hint from Reincarnation Paradise was that he could track the target within one kilometer.
Fortunately, Tokyo wasn't a big city. A one-kilometer perception range was enough.
For now, he just needed to complete the main mission normally. The main mission had a 48-hour time limit, and the penalty for failure was a deduction of 13,000 Paradise Coins. If he didn't have enough Coins, equipment would be deducted. If that still wasn't enough, he could only wait for death.
As for the Hunter Mission, Su Xiao saw no penalty or time limit.
Su Xiao felt that the Hunter Mission had other hidden details. Perhaps the time just wasn't right.
A Contractor who ended up on his hunt list was definitely not someone who would stay out of trouble. Maybe it wouldn't be long before that guy jumped out to court death. He wasn't in a hurry at all.
"Tap, tap, tap~."
Footsteps echoed from the corridor in the distance. A burly man wearing a mask stepped out of the darkness.
"It seems the title of Binge-Eater isn't undeserved."
The man wore a white suit and a white mask with ventilation holes over the mouth and nose. As he approached Rize, he pressed his thumb against his index finger, producing a crisp crack.
Rize stopped eating, her expression turning displeased.
"I hate having my meal interrupted..."
The two began to talk, a thick smell of gunpowder spreading between them. It seemed they were about to fight.
"Not good, Lord Han Yu. What do we do? Two S-Rank Ghouls. Rize Kamishiro is somewhere between S-Rank and SS-Rank."
A chill ran through the hearts of the many Contractors. This kind of opening was something even Han Yu had never seen. Reincarnation Paradise had actually teleported them right in front of two S-Rank Ghouls.
"Run as soon as the barrier disappears. Life or death depends on luck."
Han Yu had lost his earlier composure, gripping his staff tightly.
There was less than a minute left on the barrier. Once it vanished, it might be their death sentence.
Su Xiao had already recognized the two in front of him. The purple-haired beauty was Rize Kamishiro, and the masked man in the suit was named Yakumo Oshu. The name Yakumo Oshu might be unfamiliar; the CCG called him Jason, and the Ghouls called him Gecko. He was the Gecko who 'tortured' Ken Kaneki in the original story.
"The higher-ups sent me to bring you back. Alive."
Gecko held a long-handled iron clamp. It was actually a surgical tool for Ghouls.
Ghouls were different from ordinary humans. Because their bodies contained a large amount of Rc Cells, their skin and membranes were very tough. Ordinary knives or medical instruments couldn't harm them.
In the Ghoul world, ordinary humans also contained Rc Cells, but only in trace amounts. The reason Ghouls devoured humans was driven by both appetite and the need to replenish their Rc Cells.
It could be said that Rc Cells were a very miraculous form of energy. They could strengthen the human body and also form powerful weapons like Kagune. If it weren't for the accompanying urge to eat humans, Rc Cells would be a decent method of enhancement—at least better than bloodlines with obvious weaknesses like vampires or werewolves.
Su Xiao guessed that there should be Contractors in Reincarnation Paradise using this method to strengthen themselves. Although he wouldn't choose it, some Contractors with heavy tastes might have that option.
The battle between Rize and Gecko was about to erupt. Gecko was in an excited state.
"Before I catch you and take you back, can you give me one finger, three or four arms, five or six feet?"
Gecko laughed loudly. This guy was a sadist. Compared to killing his opponent, Gecko preferred torture.
"A huge body but you like little toys. Do you like playing house? How cute."
Rize's taunt enraged Gecko. He charged straight at Rize, swinging the long-handled iron clamp toward the back of her head.
Rize didn't even turn around. From the end of her spine on her slender lower back, four Kagune suddenly sprouted.
The Kagune were a deep crimson, like four long tails, their surfaces glowing red. That was the look of highly active Rc Cells.
"Boom."
Gecko was knocked back several steps by Rize's Kagune, and the nearby glass tanks were pierced by the Kagune, releasing a flood of clear water.
Rize had no intention of fighting Gecko. She leaped high into the air, preparing to flee.
Just as Rize soared upward, the protective barrier around Su Xiao dissipated—time was up.
In that instant, Su Xiao's leg muscles tensed. He sprang up, a dark streak cutting through the air.
When he reappeared, he was midair, directly in front of Rize.
Su Xiao lashed out with a kick, slamming hard into Rize's soft abdomen.
Rize, still airborne, was caught off guard, utterly unable to dodge Su Xiao's attack. Her beautiful face twisted in pain.
"Bam."
A clean strike sent Rize crashing to the ground at high speed, tumbling several times.
Su Xiao landed, flexing his slightly sore calf. The ghoul's hide was tougher than he'd expected.
Dragon Slayer Flash appeared in his hand. Su Xiao smiled as he looked at Rize and Gecko.
"So this is an S-class ghoul? Hah—surprisingly weak. I was just wondering how to join the CCG. Killing the two of you should do the trick."
Rize struggled to her feet, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth. Her eyes were filled with wariness as she scanned her surroundings, already plotting an escape.
The Contractors in the distance were dumbfounded. Han Yu was drenched in cold sweat. He finally understood why two S-class ghouls had appeared at the very start.
It was because among them, there was a Contractor who was an even greater monster. To balance the storyline, Reincarnation Paradise had orchestrated this very scene.
