Combined with the circles of ritual candles on the floor and Caesar, kneeling in the center and worshiping "devoutly," it truly had the air of a ritual summoning an evil god.
However, some parts of the arrangement were quite amateurish, such as the ritual blood and the details of the patterns on the floor. The placement of the ritual candles was especially absurd—the inner circle went counterclockwise, while the outer circle went clockwise.
Precisely because the arrangement was both rigorous and full of flaws, it looked more genuine, making the evil god more willing to descend upon the ritual.
Put simply, evil gods also liked occultism novices who were easy to fool, rather than dealing with those old, slippery believers. The former were easy to deceive, while the latter looked devout but would never act without profit.
