February 9, Interstate Highway 85.
Glenn's team was exploring outward along the highway. They were still stationed at their temporary camp in Hershel's farm, and over the past few months, they had found dozens of survivors and a great deal of supplies for Umbrella Corporation.
The several nearby towns had already been thoroughly looted, and there were hardly any usable resources left. Now they could only explore farther out.
Glenn was driving a modified pickup slowly along the highway. In the passenger seat, a girl named Judy was carefully studying the map in her hands.
With a pencil between her teeth, the girl was marking up the worn map. Suddenly, she pointed to a location and said to Glenn:
"Captain, although there's no marker here on the map, I spoke with a survivor who lives nearby. He said there's a prison here, and his cousin was once imprisoned there."
"A prison? There might still be survivors inside. Should we go take a look?"
Glenn leaned over and studied the map for several seconds, only for the girl to playfully bite his ear.
"I'll check the location first and see how far it is from us."
The Korean-American youth shuddered and jerked his neck back. Amid the girl's silvery laughter, a faint blush spread across his cheeks.
He coughed lightly, forcing himself to remain calm and maintain his dignity as captain. Then he said:
"Judy, Mr. Castor instructed us that finding survivors is our top priority."
"If there may be survivors there, and it isn't too far away, then let's go take a look."
Judy quickly kissed Glenn on the cheek, picked up the walkie-talkie, and said brightly:
"Members of Glenn's team, attention. The captain has decided on today's destination. Stay alert, follow our vehicle, and be careful."
Judy repeated the
