Background / History

Tang San grew up in Sacred Soul Village as Tang Hao's son. Tang Hao was distant and largely uninvolved in Tang San's daily activities, while Tang San spent his mornings cultivating the Purple Demon Eye alone on a hilltop outside the village. 3 4

He met Xiao Tianyang at the hilltop shortly after Tianyang arrived in the village. Tang San initiated their first conversation and quickly came to regard him as a friend; the two began meeting daily to cultivate, exercise, and spar. Tang San adopted Tianyang's modern training methods and repeatedly challenged him despite losing, using each defeat as motivation to improve. 3 4 6

During the Spirit Awakening ceremony, Tang San awakened Blue Silver Grass and was found to possess Innate Full Soul Power. Unknown to Su Yuntao, he also concealed a Clear Sky Hammer in his left hand, confirming his Twin Martial Souls. 7

At Shrek Academy, Tang San became a core member and strategist of his team. Xiao Tianyang's training improved his techniques, physical foundation, hidden weapons, and tactical thinking, while Tang San developed his own methods of combining Soul Skills and coordinating allies. 47 48 228 289

Following Xiao Wu's sacrifice, Tang San fell into guilt and exhaustion, spending sleepless nights dwelling on his perceived failure. Xiao Tianyang's harsh intervention forced him to confront this state; Tang San regained his resolve and chose to pursue Xiao Wu's restoration through his own strength. 500 502 503

He later began establishing the Tang Sect with the Shrek Seven Devils and the Four Great Single-Attribute Sects. He invited Xiaoyao Sheng—unaware that he was Xiao Tianyang in disguise—to serve as the sect's public face, but the invitation was declined. 504

Tang San is resilient, disciplined, and highly self-demanding. After losing to Xiao Tianyang as a child, he rejected despair and committed himself to catching up rather than accepting the gap between them. 6
