It wasn't long after we entered the man-made passage that we arrived before a well-built wall. A huge hole had been opened in it, presumably also dug out by the Gale Beast. Beyond the opening lay an even larger artificial downward passage. The passage was quite old; from its appearance, it seemed to have belonged to the ancient civilization.
We continued downward, with Quan Nan excitedly leading the way. Before long, we indeed arrived before a gigantic iron gate that had already been opened.
Although the iron gate was carved with many Qiongtian-level runes, it had long since lost its energy and was pitch-black. That was why the three siblings could push it open with ease. Inside, there were no mechanisms to prevent outsiders from entering. It looked more like a luxurious passageway. After the dust was wiped from many of the objects, their pristine appearance could still be seen.
I swept my gaze around and saw that this was probably a control room, and judging by the level of this civilization, it was no ordinary one. The equipment here was brimming with technological sophistication. Of course, the place had already lost its energy, and there wasn't a glimmer of light. We could only make out its full appearance by relying on the biological lamps we had brought.
With the three siblings leading me, I looked around and discovered that this was only part of the control room. Beyond gate after gate that had been shut tight were descriptions of the functions controlled here: an energy room for controlling energy, a power room for using power, and so on. The siblings couldn't open any of them, and I had to go to extraordinary lengths before I finally opened the energy room and the power room.
