A Moment

Time was relatively endless, but successfully unlocking it might consume an almost infinite amount of time as well. That meant my thoughts needed to grind away at it with watermill patience, along with massive computing power. When I altered my little finger, the other areas were not frozen in place either. Even after I finished assembling the little finger, it might still affect the other fingers. The frustration ran almost neck and neck with despair.

The attempt might have been destined to be endless from the very beginning. Before I knew it, I had almost lost all sense of how long I had spent unlocking this space. At first, I had calculated the required processing time in seconds, then it became minutes, and then hours.

The speed at which my thoughts shifted also began accelerating as the endless unlocking of this space grew more chaotic. However, the price was immense. My thoughts began measuring time in days, because even though time inside and outside my body had come to a standstill, my thoughts were the only thing still experiencing the passage of time.

I began measuring my time in weeks, then two weeks. And that was only for decoding the space around a few fingers. Unlocking this Space Law while relying solely on the Time Law and what my mind could control was so draining that it was practically a cruel war of attrition against time.

But to unlock the human Rubik's cube before me, I had no choice but to grit my teeth and continue calculating and controlling it. It took me a month, then two months of grinding down my thoughts before I completed the unlocking of one wrist. Only after the fingers were reassembled and I unlocked the time in that area could they finally move again.
