I had no idea what material the enormous archway was made of, or how many years it had stood there. It showed not the slightest sign of weathering, only damage left by battles.

Looking at the spirit-pattern markings on it, I hurled the axe in my hand without hesitation. A bang rang out, but it did not leave so much as a scratch-a testament to how securely the spirit patterns were set into it.

I gathered my power and sent a strand of spiritual energy into the spirit patterns, only to light up a single one out of the tens of thousands.

I glanced around. The archway had a circular foundation, with sockets for spirit crystals set into every ring. I reflected that reaching the next floor would not only consume a large number of spirit crystals, but also mean facing interception by greater demons.

I summoned more than three hundred spirit crystals, and with a wave of my hand, sent them straight into all the sockets.

Sensing the aura of teleportation within it, I stepped through the curtain of light without hesitation.

After a bout of dizziness from the teleportation, I appeared in a stretch of wilderness in my spiritually condensed form.

Rolling hills covered the wilderness, with the occasional patch of green vegetation. It looked remarkably quiet, completely unlike the forest below. The only similarity was that even in daylight, the place remained distinctly chilly.
