Happy times always passed quickly,
even if Russell had secretly stretched that moment out by quite a bit.
After sunrise, Russell reluctantly saw Gwen off.
She was still a student and had to go back to class.
After returning home, Russell took off his clothes and set everything else aside neatly.
He was going to grind Attribute Points.
With one step, he arrived in a void.
Before him was a Red Dwarf.
Proxima Centauri, approximately 4.22 Light-years from Earth.
With a flash, Russell flew at tremendous speed toward Proxima Centauri's core.
Talent 1, Energy Absorption, activated, continuously absorbing the surrounding light, heat, and Ionizing Radiation.
On average, he could gain 7,777 Attribute Points per day.
If it had been the Russell of a few months ago, he naturally would not have been able to venture deep into a stellar core and emerge unscathed.
But three months ago, Russell had completed his second upgrade and maxed out his third-stage attributes.
Deep Blue, activate!
Name: Russell (God Clan) Attribute Points: 1,334,396 Indestructible Body: 100 Talent 1, Energy Absorption: Can absorb any energy and convert it into Attribute Points. Talent 2, Attribute Transfer: Attribute Points can be used to enhance the divine body. Description Panel: Upgrading. Estimated upgrade time: nine months.
That was right. Without the readers knowing, Russell had quietly completed his second upgrade.
He had also dumped most of the energy gifted by his boss, Blood God, into it and was currently undergoing his third upgrade.
After the second upgrade was completed, the Attribute Panel had changed.
The Lifespan slot had become Attribute Points, meaning Russell was no longer limited by his lifespan.
Physique, Perception, and spirit had merged into one, becoming the Indestructible Body.
Each point of Indestructible Body required 30,000 Attribute Points to increase.
The increase granted by one point of Indestructible Body was equivalent to a fully maxed second stage.
Essentially, the Attribute Point consumption had neither increased nor decreased.
In Russell's perception, his body and soul had already fused into one.
Their combination granted him all kinds of miraculous abilities and terrifying defensive power.
Now, even when he saw Master Ancient One and Doctor Strange, Crisis Sense would not so much as twitch out of respect.
At this stage, as long as those powerful ancient gods who only served as background scenery did not make a move,
Russell would still die if he went out of his way to get himself killed.
Black holes, gigantic stellar cores, supernova explosions...
Cultivation knew neither day nor night.
Russell planned to get some proper sleep here for a few days. (Cross that out—grind for a few days.)
Sigh, absorbing energy from the Real Universe was far less efficient than converting Magical Energy.
Blood God, I miss you.
Will you come again?
Stark Tower, reception room.
Tony sat casually, looking at Nick Fury across from him.
"Natalie said S.H.I.E.L.D. has information on Howard and Anton, but it has to be delivered in person?"
"Yes." Nick Fury nodded. "It concerns classified information. There can be no mistakes."
Tony blew on the coffee in his hand and said lazily, "All right, take it out."
Inside Stark Tower, right under his nose, there could not possibly be any problems.
Nick Fury gave a look.
Natasha took out a syringe. Her strike was swift, precise, and ruthless as she moved to inject Tony.
At the critical moment, Tony twisted away and rolled twice, narrowly dodging it in a sorry state.
Nick Fury explained, "It's an antidote. It can temporarily relieve the discomfort caused by Palladium Poisoning."
"I'm perfectly healthy."
Tony replied irritably.
"Palladium Poisoning? Such a minor problem, I already—ugh!"
Suddenly, Tony clutched his head and collapsed, writhing on the floor in agonizing pain.
"Tony!"
"Tony!"
"Quick, call a doctor!"
"Something... something is in my head."
A few seconds later, Tony stopped struggling.
Initial examination revealed severe cerebral hemorrhaging and extensive brain damage.
Tony Stark had lost all vital signs.
"Tony... is dead?"
Pepper could no longer remain standing. She crouched down, covering her mouth as she sobbed.
Tony's security team glared menacingly at Nick Fury and Natasha.
Nick Fury and Natasha looked at each other in bewilderment as well.
At that moment, Happy stepped forward.
"J.A.R.V.I.S., pull up the surveillance footage from earlier."
Thank God, the footage could prove they had done nothing.
The antidote had not gone in. It really had not!
After watching the footage, everyone became even more confused.
Tony's final words had been that there was something in his head.
Combined with the cause of his death...
What did that mean? A new type of Nanoweapon?
Nick Fury's expression changed. He thought of an old friend.
I'm not dead yet. I can still be saved.
I'm not dead yet. I can still be saved.
I'm not dead yet. I can still be saved.
Tony's soul walked over to the others, shouting over and over.
To his dismay, no one responded.
"Tony!"
In a daze, Pepper heard Tony's voice and cried out.
Instinctively, Pepper turned to look in one direction.
Hearing her, Tony turned as well.
Their gazes met.
Illusion and reality intertwined.
At that moment, Tony seemed to understand something.
"Tony is already dead. My condolences, Pepper."
Happy walked to Pepper's side, patted her shoulder, and comforted her while forcibly holding back his grief.
"No, Tony isn't dead."
Pepper smiled through her tears.
"I saw him."
Everyone followed Pepper's gaze.
There was no one there.
"Pepper..."
Happy was about to persuade her further when Pepper raised a hand to stop him.
"Quiet."
Pepper, can you hear me?
Tony walked up to Pepper and asked.
"Yes."
Pepper nodded gently.
Contact Russell. He has a way to save me.
"Yes."
This time, Pepper nodded vigorously.
She was too excited to speak.
Soon, the call went through.
"Hello, the number you have dialed is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
Pepper called again.
And again...
Shit.
Tony cursed inwardly.
Pepper, put on my armor and go to the New York Sanctum Sanctorum.
Tell the people there what happened and have them inform Master Ancient One.
The rest of the journey went smoothly.
The people at the New York Sanctum Sanctorum recognized the armor at once.
It belonged to their youngest junior brother, Tony Stark.
Before long, the news reached The Ancient One.
The Ancient One thought for a moment, seeming to have come up with something amusing.
With a smile, he forwarded the message to Russell.
"Tony's physical body is dead. Come back and revive him."
Of course, not by phone.
Russell was inside Proxima Centauri's core. No commercially available phone could be brought in there.
Even if they overcame every difficulty and sent the message, it would still take more than four years.
By then, it would be far too late.
Upon receiving the message, Russell was somewhat surprised.
Tony died? Had the plot of Iron Man 2 fallen apart?
If he had known, he would have stayed a few more days to watch the show.
His speed erupted as Russell shot away from Proxima Centauri's core at extreme velocity.
Massive celestial bodies distorted the surrounding Spacetime, making it very difficult to open a Portal directly.
Of course, Russell could do it.
But he could not guarantee that it would not affect the stability of Proxima Centauri's core.
After returning to the star's surface and sensing that the surrounding Spacetime was relatively stable,
Russell took a step and returned to his room.
He put on his mage robes and wore the Time Stone.
Then he straightened himself up in front of the mirror.
Little junior brother, your senior brother is coming to save you!
Thanks to reader Hell Berserker God. This newbie received his first Monthly Pass.
Also, an explanation for why Doctor Strange could voluntarily let Christine see him during Astral Projection in Doctor Strange 1, while Tony could not.
The setting of this book is that it depends on proficiency.
Doctor Strange frequently used Astral Projection and stayed up all night studying, so his proficiency was higher.
