"It seems you've been away from your home planet for too long. You've forgotten quite a few things." Dane looked at the young man, who was not yet middle-aged but already somewhat greasy.
"We never call it Terra. We call our home planet Earth."
Quill was clearly stunned. He had been very young when he was taken from Earth, and he could no longer remember many things. He really had never noticed that detail.
What he remembered most clearly was that his mother had just died when he was taken away, along with the backpack he had carried with him.
There had been some odds and ends in the bag, as well as a portable cassette player from the last century. Those were the only things that could prove he had once been an Earthling.
But if anyone asked what other memories he had of Earth, Quill himself could not say.
"Peter Jason Quill, I know far more than you can imagine—not only about your exploits in the known universe, but also about your life on Earth."
"You should remember that you still have a relative on Earth. Your uncle."
Quill was truly dumbfounded now. He vaguely remembered something, because before he had left Earth, one of the people at the hospital had seemed to be his uncle.
He had no idea how the other man knew such things. Logically speaking, they had never met before this.
Although Quill called himself Star-Lord and wanted his name to be known far and wide, he was not arrogant enough to think he was truly famous.
If this man had investigated his entire background in such a short time after meeting him, then that intelligence-gathering ability was far too terrifying.
Quill immediately lost some of his nerve.
Then Dane passed him over and
