Background / History

Dane is a reincarnated individual who is summoned by the dying Wizard Jebediah to inherit SHAZAM's power and become guardian of the Rock of Eternity. Suspicious of the apparently easy transfer, he recognizes the risks of contract-based magic and immediately plans against the possibility that the gods could reclaim their power. After inheriting the role, he rejects the Seven Deadly Sins' temptation, subdues them, and secures the Rock by changing its access code. 1 2

He befriends Clark Kent early in his new life, helps him access Jor-El's digital consciousness, and obtains Kryptonian knowledge from Clark's ship. Dane later turns that knowledge into a technological base: he establishes Pioneer Technology and its Quick Shake platform, then founds Umbrella as a black-technology research and logistical organization intended to support the Justice League. 4 6 10

Dane serves as a driving force behind the Justice League's formation.
